I guess since I am the resident theologian on this one, I'll take it...
Golgotha is a Biblical location, meaning "place of the skull." It is the place, according to the Gospels, where Jesus of Nazareth was crucfied.
However, Kellan and others just thought the name sounded cool more so than its theological meaning. The story itself, however, may allow for that...
