I guess since I am the resident theologian on this one, I'll take it...

Golgotha is a Biblical location, meaning "place of the skull." It is the place, according to the Gospels, where Jesus of Nazareth was crucfied.

However, Kellan and others just thought the name sounded cool more so than its theological meaning. The story itself, however, may allow for that...

The word Golgotha means "Irresistably cute".

So now you know.

I know that the Excremental came from Golgotha. There are probably various different interpretations of where/what it is.

It's a bad place.

It's a cool ship though.

I suggested Golgotha to IceFire back in the days when it was just me and him, and Dark designing the Golgotha itself. Ice wasn't ever-so-keen on the name - but Dark was, and 2:1 odds in our favour meant that the ship got named what it did.

Surprisingly, it's also what all three of ushad envisioned, I think.

Its about 3.2km long which puts it at the same length as the GTD Hades and not quite as wide.

You should call it the GTD Arse-Kicker.

it looks like it can kick a few of those.

Any conventional fleet I've put it infront of gets blown away pretty quickly. The main cannon has a fairly long recharge time so it can get pretty close to a stalemate.

A Sathanas can still smoke it on a head on engagement but were talking 20% decrease in hitpoints every time the Golgotha lands a shot.

Yeah...thats pretty much the size nailed down right there. When I approached Dark with the original idea...I basically said...big gun...meson reactor...yada yada yada
