I'll bug them and see if they're going to put up tech readouts for the Alcyone and Telesto, seeing as these models are going to be converted to workable pof soon.

I have the written tech descriptions of the Alcyone and Telesto ready for the website, but itturned out I wrote too much, and it won't fit into the tech database. Oops. Seems a little <snip> is in order...

As for missions, now that I'm back I'm getting warmed up on them again. The good news is that FS2 is at least in a state where I can design missions at the moment, and hasn't (yet) been as finicky as it was when playing missions. In the meantimes I've worked on scripts, so the missions that are done are getting more and more polished.

Now...about the demo. You may remember rumours that there was one.

I had intended to get everything sent out by the time I went on holiday so it would all be done - or getting done - by the time I was back. However, thanks to my wonderful organisational skills that didn't happen. I'm currently putting the pieces back together so that all the stuff can be resent again ASAP. The biggest piece of work is probably the voiceacting, since I've been over the actual missions time and again and set up all the necessary tables and so on.

The bottom line: the demo is done except for voicing. The length of time before it's out depends on the time taken for the voicing.

IceFire and I are also hoping to undertake some sort of mission-making frenzy (particularly now that the Alcyone and the Telesto are ready to be used) in order to get all the missions finished before hell freezes over/we go back to uni.

Hope this clears a few things up.

a FS/FS2 Campaign with no Speech is no campaign at all.

I am sure that BWO will be the best Campaign ever, but it would be even better with speech.

Command Briefing
Briefing
DeBriefing
InGame Speech

All These or just ingame speech MUST be included.

I can never play my best when i need to read the messages and fight the bad guys or the good guys.

Cool

Yeah, but just remember that not everyone HAS a fast connection, and thus, can't afford to DL the voice acting... and I think that its not necessary to hold the release of a campaign just because of voices... whoever wants to have voices, just waits for them after the campaign is released... BTW, Black Sheep, I'm not putting your efforts down, but on what concerns to me, I really don't need voices at all, snd I can't wait for a campaign just because of the voices...

Also, I think its funnier to imagine every single character voice, based on their messages personality...

My 2,50€

I can live without voices, but if it is possible to get 'em, I get 'em.

Nobody wanted to make voices on my campaign

Heh, you should see my connection. Last time I checked I was downloading at a rate of 2.27 kb/s. That's about average for me I suppose.

However, I'd rather see the campaign held back until the voices are done. They say that the best things come to those who wait and besides, it could mean having to change the events in the missions if a voice file is longer than originally anticipated.

Like most people will agree, it would be better with voice. I downloaded the Babylon Project release at roughly 2 kb/s and I'd do the same for Blackwater Operations.

Slow downloads

I'm also a 56ker during the summers and I have to say I don't mind the downloads as long as you break them up like B5 project. That made it so much easier to download.

Oh well thats my opinion, I am probably very very wrong.

Can anyone tell me why a game that supposedly flopped is still around this long after it was released. The graphics are still good, the idea still works, but still lots of games die far quicker. Volition should actually make FS3.
