Shadow ships earlier a possibility?
I saw the release schedule has the Shadow vessels as fourth in line. I don't know about everyone else, but when I first heard about Into the Fire, the image in my head was sweeping out of the sky into a large engagement and hearing the Shadow shriek and seeing those purple cutting beams slicing and dicing. Surely others, including the actual mod developers who do all the work, would rather see a battlecrab than an Octurion? (But definitely keep going with the Vorchan because they are so cool looking). I know, I know, do it yourself if you want it but to be honest I do not have anywhere near the talent displayed here on a regular basis so I must beg.

The problem with doing it that way is that the releases get confused and someone looking for a set of ships will get confused trying to figure out where its supposed to be.
If we can, Release 4 will be hot on the heels of Release 3. But its a matter of time and organization.

Well, the release schedule more-or-less follows the pattern of appearance in B5; sure we saw the occasional Shadow battlecrab (sort of) in the early seasons, but you only really saw them late in the series.
I'd prefer to see the Narn / Non-aligned stuff earlier too, since fighting a Shadow battlecrab is basically impossible with a Starfury, so it makes it much more fun for mission designers to make missions, IMO...

Just for laughs, now that you have the source code, is there any possibility on using the engine to simulate a larger corvette or frigate? An impressive homebrew example is like in "Starshatter" which compellingly simulates fighters and capital ships.
I envision the player guiding the ship which moves ponderously and the AI directing the fire of the weapons when you designate targets. (Direct fire would be cheesy in a large ship).

I'd think something like "if Alpha 1 targets X, all AI turrets on ship Y (ship Y being what you're flying) act as if target X has been TAGged" ... and then all the turrets on your ship would try to fire on target X. Of course, to make it somewhat logical, the AI routine that "if turret 2 cannot fire on target X, turret 2 should follow regular turret routine (e.g. find nearest bad guy it CAN hit and shoot at it) ...
I don't particularly think that'd be much fun at all, but I bet it could be done. Will TBP do it? Probably not.

Hmmm...so does this mean the source code can be manipulated so as to make the Battlecrabs actually able to maneuver and function like they did in the show? (ie all fast and maneuverable compared to other capital ships)

When you used a bomber-fighter in FS2, the auto-turret worked just fine. Just make a BIG figter-bomber
