If the game is too hard for you, it doesn't mean it's a bad game.

Please play FS2 a bit before you go on to TBP. We did not include any training missions, that's our fault...sorry...and you can't go with the Yorktown through the jumpgate, just press ALT-J when you are ordered to jump.

Hiya again, I've tried that, I pressed alt and j loadeds of times before the gate opens and whileit was open nothing happened!!!

I'll have another go.

And sorry, i don't think the game is crap i was just a bit p*ssed of cause I'd been trying to get through that damn gate for a couple of hours. its brill actually.

just one thing, the jump gate that the Yorktown opens is blue, which was confusing me, blue gates are exit gates. Entry gate are yellow, is this an error on your part or whats goin on, lol.

Thanks I'll try again

Cheers

It is not an error, it is a limitation of the FreeSpace 2 engine

It's supposed to be difficult to hit Nials. You have to get very close, they're rather small. This is accurate modelling; Nials are far superior to your Aurora. Try flying in FS2 against a Dragon, same effect, more or less.

Nials pack a mean punch as well. Damn Dragons are annoying as hell trying to hit them.

It's not that hard to hit a Nial... It's harder not to get hit yourself...(Wha ha ha)

Man, if we made them easy to hit, the lot of you would be complaining about how we ignored the show

They are supposed to be bloody hard to hit. Its part speed and part design. Deal with the fact that your facing a superior enemy. Thats whats supposed to happen.

Fighting othe EA ships, Narn, Centauri, and others, the dynamics will be different.

As for jumping out, get close to the Yorktown. It should say 'jump drives online' or something, then you hit ALT-J and go. That's as close as the FS2 engine will let the team get to warping out with a capital ship; FS2's engine requires fighters to warpout on their own at the end of a mission (unless you use the special Red Alert flag, which has its own drawbacks) so this is the best compromise. IMO, a good one.

Now...if only the warpout sound didn't sound like a dying rhino ...

lol. Muß man sich mal bildlich Vorstellen.

You have to escort the Ea ships. Escort means fly nearby

Statisticaly its impossible to please everyone. theres always an unhappy grunt. LOL Now I feel better that at least 1 made himself manifest. Statistic conditions satisfied...

Try playing Fs2 original campaign in easier levels of dificulties.
Then play TBP B5 MOD, first in easier levels of difficulty as well, if you still dont like it you can always wait untill we release better fighters for the EA and easier enemies, so stay close to us (not necessarily, posting )

We're also going to attempt a better system at making jumpouts...or mission end conditions (hangar, etc).

This will be in release 2.

How to hit a Nial fighter:

Aim just in front of the reticle

Simple.

Can someone tell me how to hit with the missiles though? I always seem to end up blowing myself up.... not pleasant.

Back to that hangar depart. I have invented two kind depart for hangar normal depart and lazy one.

First would be:
....
<
distance
alpha 1
EAS Janus (first one which came in my mind)
50-100
allow-jump
Alpha 1
send-message
#command
0
Enter hangar
....

And for lazy ones like me:

....
key-pressed
alt-J
red-alert

And dont say anything against me it works!

to jump you have to be near the Gate before the jump engines will allow u to engage

They are trigger activated. So, trigger once to fire.....wait till they are near the target (you really have to lead and hope that you are lucky) and then hit the trigger again.

You'll have ALOT more missiles to play with for the next release.

i have to say i really like the mod and making hard to it the nail makes the game more challenging and it improves your dogfighting skills instead of sitting back and using homing missiles.
