Angry Damned FS2 bug

Hi dudes, well I eventually got that silent threat mission done. It meant decompiling 386 files, modifying one of them and then putting them all back together like a damned jigsaw but i did it. Not exactly worth the effort. And the Hades, man, what a pig ugly ship!

Anyway I've gone leaps and bounds with FS2 and I've hit a wall with a barracuda mission. The one where you're evaluating the pegasus, and a shivan corvette drops by to say hello. Well the aquinas pussies out and epsilon wing and me are pummling the Tiamat corvette, the hull integrity is falling at a nice rate and then it strops falling at 10% ! Grrrrrr

Has anyone been able to waste this sucker or is it a wide ranging bug that everyone runs into?? Cos I want 'im dead!!!

p.s. wasnt the SOC mission cool?

You can`t damage ships below 10% if you are in a fighter. It's not a bug. It's a feature.

You can`t damage ships below 10% if you are in a fighter. It's not a bug. It's a feature.

Its to stop fighters killing everything.

In fs1 you could go around blowing everything to kingdom come, but fs2 is a little more real. You aren't a superhuman ( Or Vasudan ).

Sure, with a set of Maxims you can tear apart a cruiser pretty easily. With anything larger, though, it's not possible for primaries and missiles to completely destroy it. You'd need heavy bombs and/or beams to completely destroy a big ship.

Sure, with a set of Maxims you can tear apart a cruiser pretty easily. With anything larger, though, it's not possible for primaries and missiles to completely destroy it. You'd need heavy bombs and/or beams to completely destroy a big ship.

Trebs may only work on certain ship classes though. I`ve heard people say that they won`t damage ships. Maybe they only work on the smaller capships (they definately work on the deimos)

Trebuchets work to an extent on capships. But only in subsystem damage and to a very small extent to hull damage.

Although it's a bit stupid that a fighter can kill a destroyer or a corvette, but this 10% limitation does have it's "artificial fix" feeling. You're happily pummeling a corvette, then your efforts just stops like a sports car to a brick wall.

Instead it would have been better to use tables to define such value, instead of hard coding. And... even better would have been if V would have used similar method to weapons effectiveness to hull or shields.

You know that Maxim barely can damage shields, but hull goes down pretty damn fast. Why V couldn't use similar method for cap ship hulls? Bigger the ship (or harder hull plating value in tables, regardless of ship class) harder it is for weapons to get through the armor plating.

It's these "little" things I'd like to see SCP team to fix...
