I've been playing around with non patched release 2 and have fixed a couple of crash bugs. Problem with Olympus remains though.

yah that was kinda of a bad joke but the previous statement about 32bit and 24bit art work is still valid. We curently can rid our selves of the banding problems. This also drains your system resources.

I know, I wrote the code
If your card supports it DDS will use less resources.
Theres still a bug or two with that though but I am trying to work them out for the next version.

YES...somebody please-oh-please should recompile the models with the new pcs version, so that smooth-shading works in FS2_open

Smoothing correction on a number of ships and the olympus problem have been resolved in the release 2 patch MONTHS ago, will someone please just release the damn thing.

Everything is in the r2 patch folder so just compile what's their to correct the errors mentioned.

Posted by Col. Fishguts on 02-11-2004 10:46 PM:

The Sharlin I'm using is the one from R2, and I know it was smoothed out months ago. I works in vanilla FS2, but in HTL FS2pen, it doesn't.
But according to Bob, with the latest PCS version it should be possible, right ?
