There is a new Freespace 2 game out there: Freespace 2- Colossus. I kid you not!!! Unfortunately, this game is bundled with a Force Feedback Joystick from Logitech. Final value is $79.95 CDN, that's $50.00 for you American Folks.

Here is what I do know: this game has 10 missions involing the Colossus, from the defense at Enif Station, to the destruction of the Colossus at Capella. I don't know any more unless I get the game, but then, the Joystick is a little expensive, and I already have one at this present moment.

This is a separate install, the original is not needed. Hopefully, this will re-energize interest in the game.

I don't know if I can find any more information though....

I beleive this is a sort of expanded demo, much like FS1: Darkness Rising, which got me into FS in the first place.

IIRC all it is is the missions between Enif and High Noon.

It's not new. I`ve had a copy for over 6 months or so (and it's probably older than that). I`ve never bothered to install it cause it definately looked like a demo rather than anything new.

It's a demo allright, nothing new under the sky.
TBP does not even work on it, but neither it does on the original demo.

I remember there was a Freespace - Colossus demo a few months ago... either online or as a CD with another game.

Unlike Darkness Rising, which went just before the gamer was introduced to the Lucy, I think Colossus starts midway in the NTV revolution, and you get to see half of the Colossus in action, either up until the Ravana, or up until the discovery of the first Sathanas.

IMO, get the retail, dont get this.
