Welcome to Nyxfall
The Nyxfall Writers data file is now available. HeX and I have completed pretty much everything of importance (the remaining stuff is mostly minor or not necessary yet), and the assorted files that make up the Nyxfall universe are in one handy zip file. It includes some background on a number of the Human and alien factions, the technology of the Nyxfall universe, the timeline and various other goodies that you wouldn't want to be without.
So, for all of you who wanted to write in Nyxfall, here is your chance to get ahold of the required data. The reason that we are getting the data file out so early is so that everyone will become comfortable with the universe and we can sit down and get to the important part....the story plan itself. This storyline planning is expected to occupy the time while the NHOL-1 rewrite is going on. The time spent on pre-story planning should help make NF the best story yet done.
While HeX and I have the 'master plan' for how Nyxfall is going to progress, much of the details will be arranged with all of the authors beforehand, hence the storyline planning sessions. Thus we'll all know what to do and where the story is going. And in case you are wondering, the authors WILL know all the details of the main plotline. No keeping people in the dark.
Also, you may have noticed I said that I said MOST of the human factions have been detailed. This is true, as we have purposely left several of them vague so anyone interested in taking charge and detailing them is more than welcome. Anything you do will have to go through HeX or I, but unless you go excessively outlandish, expect no problems. Also, as time goes on, expect the background data for the factions to evolve and expand.
Finally, if there is interest, I will also make a 'Reader's data file' for those who would like to know the background for the NF universe, but do not wish to write, or for those who are uncertain and would like some background before commiting.. This file would include the technology, timeline, species, etc, but would not include the plotline or other stuff that only the authors should have beforehand.
Hopefully, everyone in Nyxfall will have access to ICQ or another instant messanging service. Hopefully, many of the questions that popped up in the TI discussion thread will be dealt with outside of the chosen BB, in ICQ, email or other media. My ICQ # 69252960, feel free to contact me.
