There's not a lot of spotlight on TBP right now and these forums have seen busier days. Give it some time, and promote the campaign when the patch comes out.

The patch is actually sort of complete. It's now mainly a matter of deciding whether to release it as is or add more content to it to make up for both the delay and some of the terribly messed up stuff in the original R2. Of course, this opens up the possibility of more delays and messed up stuff.

Specifically, there's some consternation over whether or not to ship a patch which would basically just fix the original Release 2's problems or add more content to it. If the latter happened, it'd be more like Release 2.05, even though it'd still upload with the official "patch" title.

*whispers babylon 5*
but I am up for waiting. beyond just the campaign problem there isn't much beyond the olympus chash problem to be fixed(which I have the fix for) is there? Oh will you include bobboau's new Nuetron GunB weapon table entry in the patch?
Hate to ask this but anything new as in centauri ships like the primus or octavian(or whatever)?
I know it is hard to motivate you guys to post screen shots when no one seems to visit TBP.

I'm not the one in charge of choosing what gets packaged and what doesn't, so take the following with a grain of salt. I don't know anything in regards to what new ships might be included in the patch, but I do believe that SCP stuff such as glowmaps, shinemaps, and the NeutronB for the Minbari are being included.

I wish I had data on the Primus or something, but nobody even posts on the internal forum anymore as to what ships are game-ready so it's a lot of guesswork.

Plan A
- Fix was was broken in R2.
- Reinclude R1 campaign.
- Add some SCP stuff, like extra textures.
- Some minor stuff.

Plan B
- Add a new campaign.
- Add new ships/weapons.
- Fix was was broken in R2.

If we go with plan B, then it will surely take a lot longer to release. At the moment we have three people working on it but all are busy with real life. I think maybe 1/4 of the campaign is finished. Not including voice acting.

Maybe we go with "plan A+". Plan A and add whatever ships and weapons we have finished and leave the campaign for later.

We'll see.

Oh, and about new ships. We have quite a few models finished but untextured. Like Warlock and Primus. Secundus is same as Primus but with a mass driver.

some nice extra SCP goodies might be a collection of name plates for the omega, nova, midwinter, and olympus. the Nuetron gunB has had some changes to it recently. Talk to bobboau about any table changes that are necessary. But there has been a significant improvement.

I've got some more Omega nameplates that will probably be used in the patch. You won't see them if you don't use SCP (due to the texture replacement feature) but this doesn't affect gameplay in the least. I might be able to bug somebody into making all the ones from the show too.

Nova nameplates don't work very well. They seem fine on the port side but if you fly over to the starboard surface-woah! Dyslexic Earthers ahoy! The name gets printed backwards, which I guess is fine if you're looking at the ship in a rearview mirror, but that's not likely.

Do Olympus corvettes get their own name decoration?

Well I am sure that the name plates for the NOVA can be fixed by retexturing it but I wouldn't want you guys to bother. Most of the NOVAs were destroyed during the Earth-Minbari War. Umm, some of lightspeeds nebulas or information of where to get them would be nice. Also, how 32-bit weapons effects? I know this a bit to much pimpage here but it is becoming a personal concern of mine as a SCP staff member that mods try and use the awesome changes and enchancements we have provided people with.

I'd vote for plan A, fix the stuff in R2 first. Then release new ships along with the new Raider Wars campaign.

As for SCP stuff.....after a long break due to exams, which I passed (YAY for me ), I'm working on shinemaps again, expect some updates within the next weeks.
My suggestion is, that we put together a .vp with all the SCP stuff in it, when 3.6 comes out. In it should be IMHO:

- FS_open:3.6 (not in the .vp iteself, duh)
- glow-/shinemaps
- Minbari fighters with real fighterbeams
- updated R1 campaign, with Omniscapers Earth-skybox for the last mission, and maybe some more ships (since with HTL everything runs faster)
- Omnis Mars-skybox as well
- maybe some hi-res backgrounds, if the people who made the current TBP backgrounds still have the hi-res ones in PS or something....or maybe completely new ones (IceFire ?)
- 32-bit effects, if we find someone to do them...

that's all I can think of atm....more ideas, feedback ?

Will there also be a complete package, which brings the original FS2 (well... the patched one) to the newest TBP version?
After two releases, several FS2_open versions and some additional things I patialy don't even remember what they did, my FS2- and Data-Folders are quite a mess, where I lost the overview some time ago.
