Endgame?

I just downloaded and watched Season 4 Endgame, and I was thinking, would it be possible to simulate it? All the voices and footage are already there for the ripping, all you need is a good FREDder.

I think the mission should go like this:

You start in front of the EA fleet (slightly)

Sheridan makes his speech about clarke, theGOD sats fire missiles, you shoot down missiles, you start attacking sats, Minbari ships jump in, everyone attacks sats, Sheridan's ship's weapons get disabled, he goes on ramming course to last GOD sat, then Apollo jumps in and blasts it.

the end.

how bout that?

apollo blasting it might be a problem that should more likely be a selfdestruct on part of god sat after getting a few hits

Already there

I'm already in the process of creating that mission. I just need to fix up the clips that I have extracted. I would also like a few beta testers. I have done some testing myself, but I would like some opinions on the mission.

Shooting down the incoming missles?
Is this possible in TBP yet?

Becuse "intercepting" the missiles like on TV would be quite unhealthy. As far as I remember, most missiles wheren't shot down, but crashed into a 'fury.

I have a full sized battle version of this (i.e. one full grid being attacked, probably only 0.1-1.0% of the battle as a whole) and this is horribly unstable. Basically this is a popular enough battle that there are bound to be loads of versions of it being made. The same applies to Severed Dreams once the B5 model (and the Whitestar if possible) is released.

True

True, the mission is very popular. Since it is so popular, I believe that we should make it a group effort on the part of the community. I have a working/stable mission that I would like advice on, if anyone is interested, pm me your email and I'll send you the mission. I don't have any web space, so that's the only way to get it out.

Of course it is....remember the mantra: "if you saw it in FS2, then you can see it in TBP". Therefore, you saw missiles being shot down in FS2, you see missiles being shot down in TBP.

And yes its unhealthy if the missile your intercepting blows up in your face...or if you go it head on and the missile is actually tracking you. Very nasty

I always thought that the Whitestar was necessary to truly capture the speed and exhilaration of the actual episode. Without it the long intervals between targets can get kind of dull.

Maybe it could be divided up into two missions, connected through a Red Alert. The first would center around defending the capships from missile attacks some ways out from Earth. The second would start in low orbit (think the Line from R1) just after the Senator's message to Sheridan and the main goal would be to destroy the sats. Just a thought.

There's just something about being in a 'fury, looking off to port and seeing a Nial flying your wing that just says something.

Oh, yes-"What goes around, comes around."

Oh yes that sure was fun, while chasing enemy fighter I got in face to face with those missiles. Really nice when 6 missiles hit directly on me, eit didn't really bother me(except that I died), but that darn boogie got away! Curses!

My recomendation, try to fly in way of those missiles, if anything it is fun

It's true that the Whitestar would add a bit to the mission. However the mission itself can be created without all of the needed elements. In Fred it will be very easy to change over once the needed ships are available.

I do agree that the mission should be in two parts. The problem with intercepting missiles is you can't do it very effectively. Trust me, I've played my Endgame mission several dozen times. However, if the first part of the mission were around mars, and connected to a second mission on earth by a red alert, that would be something. (I'm going to try it out).
