numerous problems with TBP Open...

Hello,

I just reinstalled TBP on my new comp. I've been using the SCP 3.5 on normal FS2 for about a week and all has been fine. However when I installed TBP and TBP Open absolutely nothing worked. The thing gave me dozens of error messages ranging from error parsing files to not recognizing the ships and weapons .tbl's. Also there seemed to be some files in the TBP Open that I couldn't find where they went. Perhaps I installed it wrong? Any help would be appreciated...

nevermind that nevermind, nothing's working again. FRED2 won't load and neither will any missions...at least some of the things in the Tech Room work and they look awfully nice. Other then that...nothing's working right. Anybody having the same problems or knows how to fix them?

TBP Open was released by Bobboau, don't take that as an official pack, we didn't support it. I too got lots of crashes trying to use it. The olympus issue is something relating to the SCP v3.5 as it works fine with release 3.4 - we are going to try and get that figured out. For now I suggest you you use v1.1 of TBP and the normal exe's, when we are confident of the current TBP files and SCP files we will release them.

fred isn't going to work with anything, as it is not compliant with SCP data, we should be releseing a fred that is.

what is the first error mesage you get?
what is it _exactly_? (most error mesages copy them selves to the clip board, so you can just past them)
are you useing a debug build or a relese build?
did you make a _new pilot_ ?
were you useing the latest version of R1 before instaling TBP_Open?

there are a few bugs that made it into FSO in the last minute we will patch soon

If FRED is incompatable doesn't that make TBP Open/SCP fairly useless?

Note to everyone. FSOpen3.5 has many bugs right now. They are hunting them down...but don't expect the model of stability right off the bat
