video card problem

short version:

found an old .zip with fs2 on my hdd and remembered that it was quite fun. zipped it up, setup, and it would play fine.

after 5 or so missions it crashed with some NOT ENOUGH MEMORY msg (memory leak i guess, got 512mb ram) - i could still start up and play it.

a few hours later, i try to start it again - get strange error messages. i enter setup and see that no video mode/card is selected, and when i hit detect nothing shows up.

really strange since it worked a few hours earlier and i have changed nothing (not even rebooted).

Try reinstalling FS2, reinstalling your video card drivers, reinstalling DirectX and reinstalling Windows in that order. I've never seen that particular problem but it sound like somethings gotten corrupted.

You might also was to run Scandisk to thoroughly check your drive for errors. If you haven't tried a virus scanner try that as well.
