[Weapon Crafting] Your ideal weapon(s) ?
Evident from the fact that I wrote a FAQ on it, I am pretty into the weapon crafting aspects of Summoner 2.
I am wondering what kinds of weapons you all think are the "perfect" weapons.
I just made a SWORD type weapon for Maia with 21% Death, +70 Strenth, +70 Magic (I used a lvl 6 orange gem that I crafted from inferno souls).
I also have an AXE weapon for Taurgis that is 38% Death, +113 strength, +100 magic.
My original plan had been to make only death type weapons, as that seemed to be the most useful ability. After some experimentation, however, I am not so sure. I am actually starting to wonder if INFERNO or CHAIN LIGHTNING might be more useful.
My experimentation has yielded the following observations so far:
1) While the sword claims to cast death 21% of the time (more than 1 in every 5 hits) and the axe claims to cast it 38% of the time (2 out of every 5 hits), it seems to be cast more like 1 in every 10 hits. That right there is pretty annoying.
2) When it actually gets cast, it only seemed to actually cause death at best 20% of the time.
So while the death effect is totally SWEET when it kicks in, it seems to kick in very infrequently.
For the moment, consider the SWORD type weapon for Maia.
I kept a save before I made my sword so I can play around with other types. Here are my thoughts on the 3 other types of mud:
1) Ice Coffin: Cool effect, but this will slow down your fighting b/c you have to wait for the stupid coffin to wear off (though if you have Sangeril she can backstab coffined people).
2) Inferno: Very nice and does a lot of damage. I am considering this one but on the other hand, Maia already can cast a pretty buff inferno spell so this might be a waste. Furthermore, anything weak to fire damage can usually be CHURNED up by Maia in no time flat.
3) Chain Lightning: I am probably going to experiment with a chain lightning SWORD the next time I fire up the game. This would give Maia another damage type with her weapon in melee without having to do the annoying as hell weapon swap game. The key here will be how often it REALLY kicks in and how good of an area effect spell this is (the spell description says it "might" affect others... that sounds pretty lame).
So, your thoughts on ideal forged weapons?
