Cruel and stupid... How can there be so idiotic people on Earth? Messing up with newbies...
We all were newbies in the beginning and when we have learnt something, we should pass the information to the others. Not play around with those who are not aware of everything.
But then again... looking through manuals gives an explanation why the lights blink on modem...
Oh well... at least I'm not that stupid as those who were kidding around with that ErrorFroz...

OMFG...
Somebody should tech those "helpers" manners.
Everyone on this planet cannot be good PC or MAC users, many are total newbies. I feel sorry to ErrorFroz because it seems he asked help from wrong place...

Although I am wondering how ErrorFroz knew how to use irc but didn't know blinking lights on modems is normal...

That whole thing just seems like a big joke. I believe it is phony... just someone trying to be funny.
But who knows...
And Ashrak, not everyone learns to use computer because they don't want to bother. That's why most of people play with consoles...

Quite bad, I would say...
But I know something more stupider than this (and this has certainly happened).
Few guys instructed one "newbie" to delete his computers all important files, so anything wouldn't work correctly (even worser than format, totally messed up)...
And that guy was just asking how to download from IRC

ErrorFroz should have been a little more skeptical...but yeah, I guess he'd have to call in some help to get his system running again.

yeh the last part was too nasty, tho it reminds me n00bs abusing like that on IRC on PAnet long ago.... it wasnt like deleting stuff but it often worked making them reboot or quit IRC or all chans... and hte funny part is that even when they got fooled once or twice they still believe the guys telling htem stupid stuff heh

Deltree C:\*.* whacks everything on your computer, making it unbootable and killing all your data. Adding the "/y" parameter stops Deltree from asking you if you want to do it, ensuring that the poor sucker really was trashed.
That answer your question, cheeseypoofs916?

Well, it whacks everything on your C: drive, although IIRC some versions of Windows have data-protection so certain critical files won't get hosed -- however, if you pull a deltree, you can be sure that your computer = totally screwed anyway.
Of course, for those of us with multiple HDs (err...3....) we don't have to worry quite as much - all the critical stuff is on D and E

cool, an SSC guy
Wait, so deltree makes it unbootable? Like wipes the BIOS? Or just makes the OS unbootable?

The end product is the same as format (in general concept, its not the same at all...but with the basics).
So basically its a clean drive. Wipes the OS and pretty much anything.
