Have you updated your video card drivers? What about your chipset drivers? There is a Windows XP update for agp issues. Check your ram, maybe you have a faulty stick.

Same here. Runs fine.
However, you may try to switch to Windows classic display settings, as all those fancy stuff eat a lot of resources. Some of my friends had the same trouble (application freezing, no error message, and the only way is to reboot the machine), and solved it by doing that.
Hope it helps

It works for me on WinXP Pro. Except I can't ALT-TAB out without it crashing... Also, RED crashes when I select Run RF.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will be trying them out. Killmaster, by the classic display settings, do you mean set to default? I thought I was . I am set at normal (96 DPI), 32 bit color quality, which I can change quickly, 60 HZ. I also have a problem initializing another game because of an "opengl" error. Drivers? No clue there

By "Classic" he means the crappy look from previous versions of Windows.
If you're getting OpenGL errors that would indicate your OpenGL ICD is messed up, try getting the latest drivers for your video card although that may be difficult since S3 don't actually exist any more...

I've got the lag too
I ran RF fine on my 1GHz Athlon/ASUS A7V/Geforce3 system with XP Pro. Just upgraded to a 1.6P4/Epox 4SDA+/same video card setup and now i've got lag in the video. It does it in all RF versions (i'm running v1.30 now). I have the latest BIOS/NVIDIA/XP updates installed with no luck.
A friend of mine ran it fine on a 800MHz PIII with Windows 98SE. He just upgraded his system to a P4 with XP and he too has the problem now. I haven't been able to figure out if it's the hardware, OS or both.

Must be the P4's Get an Athlon XP
j/k
Make sure all ur hardware is in the right configuration. After I flashed my BIOS some of the settings defaulted, make sure u check that.
And make sure that if u upgraded ur vid card that u fixed ur BIOS settings for that, I didn't and that caused me problems.
