Being a member of the Volition Bulletin Board has sort of been a validation of my long period of time active in this community (the forum has been active since July 1999). Recent months have seen both the decline of the forum and the onslaught of new members. But the forum is closing now and the shuffle begins. I'd like to point people in two directions for organized forums, viable longstanding communities, and acceptable moderating.

The first is of course the Volition Watch Bulletin Board. Its our own board so of course we'd like to see more people there. We are currently re-organizing our forums to accomodate more people (and topics) and were currently attempting to negotiate the tranfer of user names and topics of discussion. While thay may or may not happen, the VWBB is a strong community.

The second is also one of my favorites and that the the forums at HardLight Productions. With alot of MOD discussion forums and some fantastic moderation, this is definately a great place to be.

There are no doubt other communities out there and I don't want to try and leave people out so if you have a forum community out there that is active and supporting the interests of the people being displaced from the VBB, I encourage you to let me know and I'll keep a tally. You can also respond via our forum comments system.

THere's also the unofficial [url=http://www.squadwarforum.com/]Squad war forurms[/url] for sqauds to go to if they need to discuss something on one BB. That's the only other one I think may have been missed.

I spend about 60-75 minutes per week browsing here, and maybe 100-200 minutes per week browsing the VWBB...
