As far as the story... I think the only thing that tops it out B5 is "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy (Books of course). The hobbit and Silmarillion are saweet too! WOOT! Hats off to Tolkein and his son.


While some die hard Tolkein fans hated the movie, I on the other hand loved it. Though it was more than just "modified" For instance... Glorfindel was the one in the book, and arwin took his place in the movie.... Not a big deal... But you know the basic story is the same... :-)

Nah....I am still convinced that DS9 is the best Sci-Fi show out there....and....no Sci-Fi movie is better than Star Trek: First Contact.

stargate rules no question there - and startrek is cool too hmmm hard to put them in order - hmmmmmmmm anyway lord of the rings was a great film cant wait for the next 2 - same applies for the star wars film - hate george lucas arghhhhhhhhh hmmmmm anyone here think there should be a stargate sg1 movie??? that would be cool

My joint favourites are B5 and DS9, but I haven't really seen much of Andromeda nor SG-1. I guess that I will eventually, I've heard good things about both of them.

The only relavant series that sucks in my opinion is Voyager - the characters suck, and this is not redeemed by the episode plots.

...and...I don't like these thingys....apart from that...I like SW alot...hell....I hate comparing both things! They can't be compared! It is like...comparing TBP with Commander Keen.

Andromeda...it was a bit too crazy for me. But the computer....she looks damn gooooooood

The first episodes of Voyager sucked! It is better now...but far away from the quality of DS9...!!

Stargate SG-1 is based on a movie!

About ST:FC, yes, that's the absolutely best sci-fi movie ever. At least one that is based on a tv-show.

First contact was cool, but not the best Star Trek movie. Insurrection is what scifi is all about.

Star Wars cannot be discussed effectively without bringing the books in on it. All in all, Star Wars is the single greatest monument to scifi there is.

And let's just compare DS9 to B5, shall we?

B5; A cohesive, well-organized plot with several sub-plots woven in, ll working for the greater good.
DS9; Rick berman on crack.

B5; A beautiful, huge space station.
DS9; A piece of junk floating about in space.

WhiteStar; The absolute coolest small capital ship in any tv series.
Defiant; A mutant frizbee.

Nothing beats Star Wars, the fact that its not uber realistic makes it more enjoyable than "There's a quantom flux in the geo-spacial plamsa grid, fix it with a polarised ionic wave fluxsation beam"(uber exageration of ST, which i do like alot byw). Here in britian there's even a Jedi Religion. Been voted best movie of all time, so many times. Counting all the Star Wars movies as one LOTR comes second and as for series, sorry but Babylon 5 comes out top.
