Geez, what is it with forum members having bad things happen to their computer (or priviledges to use such?)

Sorry to hear that about your computer, Ashrak.

Nevertheless , a stolen / broken / burned out PC is always an opportunity to get a new system that is finally up to date.

Doesn't that just kind of hit everyone odd. 'Well you know, my PC was stolen'. Woah.

I've had my PC stolen, along with pretty much every other electronic in the house. Break and enters are oh so not a fun thing.

But this just sounds like his PC was stolen. How does that happen? I guess I just don't know the situation.

I've got two friends in the last year who had their laptop (and only their laptop) stolen. One left their halls of residence door open for a while, and the other left their house's front door open.

Both were opportunist thieves with the public nearby (i.e. They looked in, saw a laptop and took it).

man so many ppl here that got robbed!!
If I ever catch someone trying to break in my house I would pick up my Desert Eagle gun and turn him into red wall-paper.
LOL no, just kiding (unless me or someone of my family in danger of life)
Nevertheless I consider a house break in and robbery, a serious threat, and a privacy violation. I would get hellraising mad.
Once a junkie rang at my door, I didn open, (he must have thought no one was indoors), and he climbed the fence and went arround the house (less visible from there) and tryied to enter through my living room window. Of course I was watching his movements and I went to face him, it turned out he was alredy in a bad shape so I didnt beat the crap out of him and escorted him out, as I warned him not to repeat that funny moove again. he was never seen arround anymore.

If someone's breaking in your house, I don't think it's illegal to point a firearm their way ... then again, gun laws here are screwed up

Ahh, in Britain it's illegal to even own a gun without a valid reason for its use. This really only includes farming and land maintenance. Guns for sport can only be kept at registered gun clubs.

well, needing a gun for personal safety is only valid if THEY have guns too.. considering the fact that very few robbers in Britain will be carrying guns, a baseball bat (or the rolling pin I keep by my bad) will normally suffice.

A B5 analogy -
If they're in zephyr's you can kill them in a starfury, no problem.. if three sharlin's drop out of hyperspace theyn I want a few Vorlon dreadnaughts on my side.

How much is a Desert Eagle Weapons System Haderak?

hell I dont know how much it costs Xaphod, I dont own a gun and dont feel the need for one. My body is a lethal weapon.
Desert eagle gun , for those not familiar with it is that gun that shows off many times in the moovie "matrix" (sentient program, agents). I have a quite few contacts with the Military (my brother is in the air force) and I usualy end up assimilating some of their knoelege.
Here there arent much crimes executed by armed hand, and those who do happen usualy end up in ppl getting killed, when the criminals have armed opposition. Generaly speaking ppl here are not used to have a gun pointed at the head (like in the US ), so if onyone with a gun sees one aimed at him, the first reaction is to fire!
Most of the weaponry in my nation, are held by hunters, we have as many as 270000 of them (big wilderness country side area), if we had them in the army we would have one of the biggest armies in europe. LOL. Consequently most of the crimes donne using guns are by ppl who own shot guns or those who stole them (black market).
Last year there were an uncommon series of robberies to gas stations, the criminals were armed with these kind of guns, and every time there was armed opposition either the criminals or the defenders got killed, no way for diplomacy.
But the only usual gun like crime is some old 50 or 60 old chap (usualy one of the old 800000 ex-soldiers sent for the colonial war by the fallen fascist regime in the 60's and 70's, or a hunter) who finds out his wife betrayed him so he blasts his wife(and/or lover) off her shoes using a shot gun.
In what concerns our nation and women we mean business!!

generaly, my country is one of those in europe with fewer crimes of any kind. We are so peacefull.

hmm desert eagles..

what I know is that they're not strictly guns.. rather they're a weapons system that can be converted for three different calibres (9mm, .45" magnum, .50" magnum).
And they're big, pretty and have an eagle on them.

Ooh, almost forgot the huuuuge muzzle velocity and the resulting brilliant accuracy of the gun. I hear a .50 deagle can kill from the resulting trauma of what would normally be a non-lethal shot.

I wonder if I could get a prop version (one with a partially blocked barrel so it can only fire blank cartridges)

Err, not quite. Desert Eagles are made by Magnum Industries, and I know they've chambered DEs for .357 magnum (the first model) .44 magnum, .440 cor-bon, and .50 Action Express (hence, .50AE)

Isn't Google great?
