Bit of a Tribute to TBP
I took some pictures of all of our models (Tomcat's creations) so enjoy.

This what we can accomplish. This is what can be done.

I have a question ref the Nova.
The guns seem to point up & down - is this a "fixed" position?
If the turrets are fixed, the only ones that seem to be in a sensible default position seem to b the front pair.
This is not a complaint, but could the team confirm if the Nova's turrets are fixed in this up-down postion?

FS2 pofs like the default position of turret barrels to be perpendicular to the hull - i.e. vertical. As soon as something comes into range of the turrets FOV, they swivel to face it.... so don't worry 'bout that - just a modelling restriction.
Nice BTW - is that with / out Hi-Res textures?

I personally don't have a clue. I've never made ships that would need it.
But from what I've lurked at HLP, some people have gotten it working.

you click on the smooth shading icon in the paint thing
Im asuming you are useing TS4.2
you know the thing with the four spheres were the upper left one is the texture. there are three grey cylinder sphere things on the left side, click on the bottom one, then use the paint over material tool to paint over the materials that need smooth shading, wich would be all of them on the Sharlin, most of the other ships would seriosly benefit from this even some of the bulky EA ships (engines and turrets and other round things)
and yes it does transfer to FS
looks like you are gona need a pach.

According to what I've heard... Yes, I agree with you, we need a patch! I had a look at the original EA cruisers. At least the edges need to be smoothed, I think. Right?

it also seems like there are still some colsion detection problems with the Nail,
was it recompiled with PCS?
and in most missions the ships have shields, but they don't, if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure it was PCS. I'm pretty sure it was tested. But if your finding problems then its something to look at for sure.
Not like the first version tho
I could fire right through it....except the wingtips. Probably why im so good at shooting them down now.
