Quick OT question

Do any of you know of any programs for converting segments of avis (preferably even divx-ed ones) into animated gifs? I wasted an hour doing this....

If any of you want a cute avatar for message boards that support them, here's a smaller version:

I would have preferred to have a program that could have made these automatically for me. Instead I had opened up the movie (In the Beginning) in VirtualDub and gone frame by frame, hitting print screen and pasting it into PSP, then cropping the right segment out in 89 frames. Sigh....what one will do when he has lots of other stuff to do but no initiative to do the other stuff.

Sigh....my ftp is being a pain, so the big version might not be uploaded for a while.

Sigh, dont ever put a picture bigger than 30Kb in your signature. This is the biggest lesson to be learnt !

However you couldve just done this : open the avi IN Animation shop (which i assume you used anyway to create the gif since you used PSP)

go to open then just select the avi and hit open.....hey presto all the frames strung together for you to edit in about 2 seconds...lmao 1 hour...you crazy DAMN FOOL !

Please get rid of those mammoth sigs. They're nothing but trouble for low speed connectioners.

Well, I didn't really think that ~70k (the second one) is THAT bad... I've seen much worse bb avatars, going up into the hundreds of kbs.

Lightbulb

Anyone thought of taking some of these scenes from ITB and such and using them as command briefing anis?

Remember AC, the ani converter? It will turn avi movies as well as a string of pcxs into ani files which can be used in command briefings, the tech room, and in the loadout screens.

to answer your question, i remember seeing a program a while ago called Graphics Workshop. It converted .AVI's to animated .GIFs..
