Mission wont load...help?
Ive recieved no help from any other board.
I am playing the single player campaign again on hard, and boy oh girl, it is hard. Anyhow, Im about half way through. The Colossus is on the move, and I dont know the name of the mission Im on, but it wont work. I have CD 3 in, like it asks. I click on the command room, and it loads, then freezes when its done. I removed all the tables from my folder, and it still wont work. I gotta manually restart my computer.
Any ideas? Ive never had a problem before. I can play other missions, or ones I make myself.
Please help. Thanks.

something a it like that happened to me. On a mission near the end of disk 2. It would crash the game after a few seconds of me pressing commit.
I think i took a floppy i had in my computer out and it started workin.

Try downloading a patch for the game, maybe this will help.

You took some tables out...that indicates that you had MODs installed. Perhaps there is more than just the tables in there causing some troubles.
Perhaps its a bad install too. No idea really.

I have a fix but it dosent always work, when it freezes take out the CD, the blue screen should pop up hit a key then put the CD back in and it should work. If that dosent work hit Esc when the blue screen pops up.

I thought it was the lack of patch...but I put it in and it still freezes. When I take out the CD, nothing happens. It just comes out, CPU thinks a bit, then its still frozen.

I had a similar problem but with different circumstances, it kept crashing while trying to load, the problem was the graphic setting, when i put it to max it wouldn't work, but when i lowered it a bit there was no problem

If you're haveing trouble with crashes first update to the newest version (you've probably already done this). If this doesn't work keep your saves and unistall the game. Then reinstall it making sure that you install ALL the installable data to the hard disk. Then update the the latest version and put your saves back. This very thing happened to me, freespace sometimes has trouble streaming data off CD's in the middle of battle. I haven't had a problem since.

In between uninstalling and installing, delete EVERYTHING in the directory. Because uninstall does not remove anything that it didn't install (that means MODs, zip files, and cfg files).
Save your pilot(s) somewhere else along with your favorite MODs.
