I've received quite a few requests for the files already.

However, all of these testers have newer systems, and so I am hoping to find some more diversity in the test.

Anyone with a less than perfect system, please contact me about the test, I would like to see this campaign ran on as many different system configurations as possible.

I have a new system P3 600 and a P1 200. The P1 is less than perfect. Runs the Freespace 1 alright though.

thats what you get when you get your computer from companys like tiny - shabby manufacture and they dont give you all the bits you want - get your puter custom made from from local retailers then you get good quality machine and it even doesn't cost any extra

mines is AMD Athlon 800 with 192MB of ram but i ran out of money there and had to settle with my voodoo 3

thats called a dodgy windows driver

its reporting the speed of communication between your PC & the cable input, not the cable input & the pipe

All of 'em do that. As far as I know there is no way for the computer to tell what speed the DSL/cable modem connects to the ISP at; it just reports the computer-to-modem speed.

Well, I have an AMD procesor, even though it's a dureon, it is still better than a P3

And well... 500kbps is how fast I get data, and that makes me happy

It has been proven in benchmark tests that though the AMD chip serieses are faster within gaming applications which use real-time rendering, the Pentium III chips are better for loadtimes and standard 3d rendering.

If you're using 3dsmax and photoshop, have a P3.

If you're playing FS2, have an Athalon, Dureon, or whatever they are called these days.

hey if you want someone with an older computer that has been around the block a couple of times, i bought the top of the line Athlon 650 a year and a half ago. the only upgrade it has had since then has been the upgrade to a voodoo 5 5500 and an extra exhaust blower to assist in the cooloing of the system, after all, i do live in the tropics, and it hads been a godsend for when the ac is off.

well, thats the one good thing about being in the military. i may get paid ****. but at least its all mine.

and before you all complain that your paycheck is too low, mine is a little over 12,000 dollars a YEAR. if you get less than that, then you can complain. besides. here in dg and back Great Lakes, that computer was about the only thing to do.

about the campaign, is there a better set of instructions out there to install this stuff properly?
