Unholy Alliance problems
Why isn't the link for Unholy Alliance at Volition Watch working? What's the real URL?

Tis gone and hasn't been ressurected yet. Last I hear, Kazan freaked out at some Gamespy server setup at HLP and canned that.

It's really too bad, I was SO looking forward to UA. I hope Kazan picks it back up sometime.

Last I heard, Kazan announced on the HLP forums that it was resurrected...
I'm not exactly in the know, though.

I think the actual campaign is well underway however. Not sure on that one. You don't necessarily need a website for a campaign. I guess that sort of all started back in the days of Aftermath and Awakenings (although did Awakenings have a website?). Someone had a campaign website before me...thats for sure

Awakenings had a website... and well it was... umm... unique... right Dynamo?
Overall, they really took off when some campaigns that were very promising which were never finished came around. (The Prophecy Foretold, etc.)
Very good web design, original graphics, promising custom ships, but never released...
Awakenings had going for it that Dynamo ensured that everyone reviewed, previewed, etc. the campaign.
There are many FS1 campaigns, even before Awakenings, that in my opinion have better mission design as well as definately superior plot. (no offense Dynamo )
I'm simply one of those with the opinion that it was an over-hyped campaign that had decent mission design, a decent but not in-depth plot, but did have overall length going for it.
Now... let's make sure that BWO doesn't fall as this with just a few custom ships, eh Ice?
Edit: By no means is this post anything against Dynamo, it's just my opinion that he is an excellent mission designer, but not a writer, modder, or jack-of-all trades. His mission design work for BWO will be excellent since he as a supporting team creating plot and mods.

We've set a goal as a team with BWO to produce missions that would score no lower than 4.5 on the VWatch archives/review. Since Kellan and I think Dynamo as well as myself once served or continues to serve at the Archives in one of its various forms, we think thats a realistic goal.
Personally I thought Awakenings was the best, maybe I didn't play some of the others, but alot of campaigns especially for FS1 seemed to be alot of good ideas presented in the worst possible ways. Whatever I played. And heck, the missions that won for the Silent Threat mission contest, I didn't even think those were the best of the bunch. So maybe I have strange tastes or something, but I thought Awakenings to be the best I had played. Far better than my attempts at the time.
Warzone is my crowning achievement, and it was a little action heavy and a little less plot centric, so I need to work on that. The key to being a mission designer is to recognize your weaknesses and build on them.

I'll admit that there are some issues with Twilight I wish could have been delt with better. In order to maintain the best plot pacing, the campaign has been kept to a mere six missions.
Since the public beta, many of these missions have been doubled in length, and their balance has been further tweaked.
However, the difficulty is still very high and some would jump the gun to claim that it is poor mission design as opposed to my intentions with the difficulty.
There are some truly memorable moments in Twilight that you'll all be able to be a part of on the 15th, I'm sure that you'll agree that the twisting and turning plotline as well as these moments are more than worth a heightened difficulty level.
The true goal of Twilight is to introduce a complimentary plot line to Blackwater Operations, a story arc that will lead to the conclusion of the FreeSpace series in a logical manner.
It'll be the begining of the end, but the end itself is going to be so much sweeter...

In other words, Ace is going in one direction while BWO is going in another, in a seemingly same timeline although unconnected plotline.
