tomcat - I'm afraid that you're just plain wrong when you say that people are not entitled to opinions, that's one of the very concepts of being human and being capable of rational thought. Nobody said that you have to respect these opinions let alone even listen to them but people are going to have them regardless!

Any comments that are positive about the textures (such as the ones I've had) have apparently been accepted by you but as soon as there is a criticism you take it personally. Again, it's your perogative to make or not make changes - it's your model and you can do what you like with it, we can't stop you and we won't try to as we know that in the end TBP has always made the compromises that suit the project the best.

quote:
Quoted by tomcat
Only a few people are entitled to a opinion related to modeling. Those people's opinion are respected. You are not one of them.
I have since watched those three episodes that I mentioned and have made several observations on the models but apparently opinions are not welcomed by you so I shall refrain from posting them.

This has gone too far. Please, both sides will stop this right now, right here.

People are entitled to their opinions, whatever tomcat may say. But he has the last word about Omega, since he is the only one currently working on it.

The model or textures will not be changed unless tomcat so wishes.

It is true that "canon" models does change a bit from time to time, Sharlin warcruiser is a prime example of this.

So, let this issue die quietly. It is not nice if we have to close this topic. If we let this continue, it will soon become a flame war.

Sorry tomcat for blowing off some steam, and sorry Mr. Fury if my comments were a little out of hand.

I am sorry also. U should understand is that what I hate MOST is getting critics ..but NO SOLUTION to correct the problem..
Any way I am very sensitive to critics because of the fact that I consider them(not the crytics the way that are they formulated) unrespectfull to my time spent on doing the mesh textures whatever. Not many of you know that I am working ion B5 from pure passion to build something. I never played even release 1. I enjoy building the models. I built then taking hours from my freetime and saddly sleep time..It is a long time since I didnt got more than 5-6 h of sleep.Consider the fact that I am not like you I am not a teenager. I am kind of Old 28 years. Married and with a Job.
The fact is that now Omega took too many delays to develop and is not finished yeat..and IT MUST BE ready for release2 witch is closer than u think and you will have some surprise in it.
Sorry again.

Tomcat - don't worry about it, I can see why you find the criticism annoying now. It's one thing to say what's wrong, it's another to suggest what to do. Combine that not only with the time and effort invested (which has been worth it, believe me ) but the lack of time you have generally and it may seem that people are being ungrateful (whether they are or aren't).

We appreciate that everyone on the team is doing this for their love of B5 and the desire to produce something greater than any of us could do individually. For all of the hiccoughs in the development of my own campaign, it's still there and in progress with my desire to see an end result that everyone else enjoys as the only motivating factor. I'm sure that the same is true for you

Sorry but my campaign is a Minbari War one (a full 30 mission campaign with subplots involving a Mars rebellion and delving deeper into the reasons behind the war amongst other things) and therefore no Omega Destroyers

Main ships will include EAS Pericles (a Hyperion), and EAS Phocion (a Nova) with cameos by the EAS Janus, EAS Lexington and EAS Prometheus. Writing will resume after my exams on Tuesday and Wednesday. Six of the missions are fully scripted and the campaign storyboad is complete.

I guess I'll just have to wait until my next campaign to use some other ship types (I have ideas for a full Raider campaign but that's a long way off) so thank you for the offer but the bribe is unnecessary

This is art we're talking about... how much more detailed of a solution is it possible to suggest beyond "make it look more like the official model"? I provided a fairly 1:1 comparison shot. Do you really want people to say things like "there should be two rows of the red boxes on the side" when you can clearly see that for yourself?

Give us some credit for giving you some credit!

BTW, it's only on the first posted Omega model that tomcat provided that the red pods are missing. On later posts of the model they are there!
