Yeah. The Olympus has 2 PBeams that jump out of hyperspace and attatch when needed. Thats why we never saw any. They were destroyed before they could jump out.

As far as I remember the only Olympus ever seen where in ITB. That time EA hasn't got any particle beams or x-ray lasers!
So who can say if they aren't right? (I mean who other than JMS )
And maybe those PB are little versions, for interception fire like on the omega.

I tried to answer to this message when I saw it first time, I failed.
This is my second attempt... GAAAAAAAH!!

Sorry, I failed...

BTW, Olympus was seen in one episode and two movies.

And second note: Particle beams are the heavy ones used on GODs and Warlocks. Omega does not use particle beams, not even in ACTA.

And third note: B5tech is good if you want detailed information. Just don't trust too much on that information. They have taken so much from their own hats that it's scary.

I think what B5Tech tries to do is fill in their own version of the story where none is provided officially. Most of that stuff is their opinion, and even some of the stuff that is referenced is, well, suspect. For example, their "explanation" for things that are quite obviously effects goofs . Still, they do have some useful bits of knowledge for those willing to read between the lines.

yeah but they stuff their lines so close in that it is very very very very very very very difficult/hard/not-easy/impossible to read between them.

Olympus was in both ITB and ACTA...in the opening battle scenes a group of Drakh Raiders tears the main rail gun turret off in a co-ordinated strike.

Olympus was also seen in "Sleeping in Light".

Funny, this corvette should be quite usual sighting in EA fleet, but still there is only three appearances after all.

The Olympus isn't very common in EA, because its even older than the Hyperion and the Nova.
In ACTA the Olympus wasn't shown fireing. If it was, than that has been cut out by RTL2 *grrrr*.
And when in "Sleeping in the Light" ("Der Weg ins Licht" for the german speaking) have you seen and Olympus?
And in ITB the Olympus was shown firing, but only with the plasma guns. And than BOOOOMMMM. poor Olympus poor Auroras bad minbari!!!!!
So the question of the beams stays unanswered.
But the Particlebeams don't have to be as big as the ones of the GODs. That are after all Heavy PB !
But I don't think the Olympus energy system could manage 2 TWIN-PBs. Even with 2 light PBs I think it would have to drain energy from the engines (like Nova firing all weapons) or something like that.

Norbert please!

Ditch the idea of Olympus having any real beam weaponry already!

It's an old patrol vessel, why would EA upgrade those vessels with new state-of-art technology? There is no goddamn proof that Olympus would have even super light x-ray beams! Only proof exists in B5Tech... Umm... what proof?
*goes and nukes B5Tech for good!*

Edit: If Nova dreadnought can't use all of it's weaponry efficiently because of energy supply restrictions, how the hell you can imagine that even older corvette could supply enough energy for particle beams, lighter versions or not.

And actually I can't find any really canon information that Nova really does have this power supply/weapons restriction...
