Never heard anything like that but I suppose that it must have something to do with remaining Kosh's influence on Sheridan.
Otherwise the transport would have just died as did Kosh's own transport.

Still, 80% is a heck of a lot better than the 20% they could refract before.
Still kudos to the EA for coming up with this on their own, even if it was through "standing on the shoulders of giants" (i.e. the technology preceeding it was of extraterrestrial origin).

i'd say this was developd because they had lost the shadow tech - i'm goignt o go out ona limb here and say that i think it was 100% human inovation- but yeah shows were are fast learners - far better than minbari armour - i wonder if the contruction facilites the vorlons left for the whitestars were destroyed by teh vorlons when they turned hostile - they dont liek giving out tech or info or anythign so i think they must have had people supervising the contruction my thoughts are this on that if they contruction facilits are intact then why didn't the victory adn exaclibre have bio armour? could have had it over the refactive armour to provide 2 layers of defence

Perhaps they was supposed to have bio-armor as well, but because of the Drakh crisis, they never get it. Perhaps in later seasons the Excalibur would have been upgraded, depending on how long it takes though.

As far as I can remember (cogs turning slowly) the Victory class ships were designed to be fitted with bio armour (presumably over the refractive armour) but didn't have time to do so.
Well, Whitestars were still being produced so at least one production facility can fit Vorlon bio armour after the Shadow War

I think it was because of the Drakhs that the Voctories never got their bio-armor

where you get that from i never saw any evidence on vorlon bioarmour to be fitted to the vctory and exaclibre - and that guy said the damamage mounted up pretty fast - but surely he would have said oh but wont be nearly so much of a problem one the bioarmour is over the refractive armour

They removed the shadow tech that was in the main computer.they were afraid that another race or group with understanding of shadow tech could simply take control of the warlock..
quote:
Sheridan watched frorn the shuttle as the Titans pulled away from Babylon 5 and angled toward the jump gate. It was Ivanova's ship now, no one else's, no hidden agendas, no chance of compromising control. He knew it could come in handy someday, if whatever leftover shadowtech programs had been implanted in the Warlock class of warships was ever activated. lf that day came, he knew that there would be at least one ship free of that influence, that would not go along with the rest, that would be independent.

From where you have got all that information about Sheridan and Ivanova's Warlock?

It all comes from the story written by JMS called hidden Agendas ...

That's interesting, I mean how much of a Warlock's technology is Shadow based anyway? Also would the newer Warlocks be built free from Shadow technology, using ISA tech to replace the downgraded systems?

i think teh shadow tech must still have bene left in the weapons adn sensors and systems just not in teh computer - at least thats what i assume from those excerts - but how that works i'm not sure cause shadow computers are living beings

It may be that a fair proportion of the Shadow influence (i.e. Why they removed it from one ship) was in the programming of the systems, not in the hardware itself. If organic programming was used then who knows what programs there are in there?

We don't know how Warlocks are affected by Shadow tech and how much it's used on them. Probably sensors, navigation and system controls are affected.

so basicly the entire OS of the ship uses shadow tech.

For what it's worth, JMS stated on the Lurker's Guide (under Between the Darkness and the Light) that the Omega X destroyers did not have living beings as their central processors. They still used computers and wires and stuff like that.
