If you installed FS2 off of a single CD it almost certainly was the a copy of the HotU version.

The server tends to be quite busy. You should be able to connect eventually. Just try when it's night time in the western half of the world.

the rar file is defect. can't open it. another one can't open it too. we had downloades it several times ;(

Are you using WinRar 3 or better? Winrar 2 has problems with rars made by WinRar 3.
