Indeed I-War is too much flying around and then you die and you need to start again that mission...

Isn't that what the space combat is all about?
Yes, I-War 2... I am now stuck in it, and a bit bored in it too. The game is full of flying around, trying to do some stupid trick you don't know you should do. However, doing something else than just "fly there, kill all" is fun.

I agree that a game with more than kill everything is interesting but I-war really needs a time compression option for when nothing happens.
I got bored of the game after I got to a mission I couldn`t beat. After trying the mission 3 times I actually took note of the statistics
Time from enemies arrival to mission failure - 40 seconds
Time spent flying through L-points and docking with unguarded cargo to get to the area where enemy ships arrive - 9 MINUTES!
Games where you do other things are fine but when those other things are picking up a magazine and ignoring the game for minutes at a time then something needs to be done about the gameplay.

I think his full name is Aken Hieronymus Bosch because the real name of artist Hieronymus Bosch was Hieronymus van Aken and in some FS2 command briefings you can see that Admirals Boschs full name is Aken H. Bosch, so I guess the H stands for Hieronymus. If you have seen some paintings of Hieronymus Bosch you know where are the similarities with Admiral Boschs obsession of the shivans.
Another example is Admiral Khafre, Khafre was a king in the ancient egypt.

good point Echelon IV.
In case of the Vasudan Names: they`re taken from the ancient Egypt so it`s quite understandable but the idea of adm. Bosch`s name is IMO outstanding.

The Cap Ships in I-War 2 are tiny, actually. I don't fly past them at huge speeds, as I will not be able to hit them with a nice, green Whitestar beam (I use a B5 mod), instead, I activate the pursuit autopilot when I am alongside it.. When I turn on external view, the enemy cap ship doesn't seem much bigger than my own, and before you say it, the Whitestar is tiny - it replaces the command section and is no bigger than the patcom (probably slightly smaller).
What mission is this wait time on? I can't remember. Jog my memory, and then I'll probably agree with you (those statistics look awful).

you could always try the mod to save at any station to stop midway?
Methinks IWar2 is a good game, albeit not as satisfying as FS2. but some of the mods are superb - IFleet being one in particular - and they do help extend the lifespan. Last mission's a pain in the tits, though.

Not exactly that tiny. Smaller than FS2 for certain but not exactly tiny. The problem is that your ships are far bigger than anything in FS2 so of course the ships look smaller.

I didn`t know that mod even existed. I`ll have a look for it. That said if a game needs a mod to solve enormous design flaws it doesn`t really please me.
EDIT : I looked on I-war2.com and couldn`t see it. Where do you get it from?
I found lots of other bugs in the missions. Ships that never appear even though they are mission critical etc.
Overall I-war II seems unfinished to me. Which is a real pity as what is there is very good.

Looking at the data that you just gave me, karajorma, I'll turn my viewpoint round and agree with you. That is big, about the same size or bigger than a modern aircraft carrier, which is huge. The patcom in I-War 2 is 88m long, which is a lot bigger than any FS2 ship, I agree.
There is a small (compared with the VW Archives) mod database available at http://www.i-war2.com/wetwired. I don't know where the link to that is on the I-War 2 website, I saw that address somewhere else (I don't remember). Your save mod is there.
Finally, have you patched I-War 2 up to max health? They probably fix major bugs and it is a shame that a great game is spoiled by bugs (I think that the newest version is F14.6).
