And as for the weapon points, I remember that there was always a problem with that when a ship had more than two gun points or more than three missile points. If you know how, try consolidating the extra weapon points into the first two/three.
When i edited and tried out the shivan ships back in the day of FS1, i noticed they handle MUCH better than any GTA ship, could strafe, and vector (vertical movement). I was in heaven.

it's because its a FPS... easily the most popular PC & Online genre...

so many people play it that cheats are noticed almost instantly...

considering FS2 was such a niché game with such a rigid hostile online system (it was either PXO or IP-swapping... urgh!) i'm surprised it pulled in as many online players as it did... Plus it was a total bandwidth hog, making it only really playable for people in the US (with their broadband and *local* servers)...

now... the Red Faction issue...

Technically, apart from a few minor Geo-Mod performance issues, the game was perfect... in fact, its the only game in my entire collection stretching back 10 years that has NEVER crashed on me... now that alone deserves an award in todays patch-happy PC land...
It also looked and sounded the part as far as I was concerned... It looked almost as good as UT...
The Merc AI was also nearly HL standard...

The only problem I felt was that the game was SO mediocre as far as the plot and weapons were concerned... the only weapon that showed any signs of straying from the usual path was the Raildriver...

The problem I felt with the plot was that it lacked focus... it took so many twists and turns that it never actually ended up going anywhere...
One minute I was running through mines, then I encountered a non-existent rebellion, then I was rescuing Gryphon, then I was after Capek, then I was on a space station, then I was fighting Masako... It just moved way too quickly... nearly as bad as Medal of Honor's pace actually (that game easily went from great to terrible between mission 4 & 6)

the main point of this pointless rant...

ARE WE (THE PC USERS) GETTING RF2, as I feel you can actually make it good this time

hallo Griffon-UK

and no, i dont think we are getting RF2. the evil sony corp has devised that a PS2 survaillance system will be in everyone's home by the time RF2 is out.

PS: Im paranoid

PPS: THQ is sevretly building a space station which they develop their gams in and using UFO-like ships they distribute them out at best buy and circuit city.

And don't forget the laughably predictable scripted sequences.

Zylon's accurate re-enactment of every time Parker met up with someone in a red suit was so dead on that it actually made me laugh.

That annoyed me in the demo, they always died 2 seconds after you met with them.

Zylon: Well, yeah. Mind you, considering that I could kill badguys about 3070 times faster than any AI could, they'd be a hinderance to my mad skillz so I didn't mind that much. The only scripted sequence I REALLY had problems with was the "follow us to the shuttle!" and then dies in a random explosion one. If there'd been other mines there or something, maybe...

Dead is right. The AI members of the Red Faction were cannon fodder even more than your wingmen in Freespace and FS2.

That's my main real complaint with RF, those NPCs did die like flies except for right at the end. (where they lasted four seconds and then died like flies)

Nope. You were supposed to let them get themselves blown up.

The thread isn't over yet!11!!!11!!

In fact, Todd's going to reply here on Monday after he makes the rounds. His schedule is all mapped out as follows for a typical day:

1. Distribute coffee to everyone.
2. Make sandwiches for those who are interested.
3. One more round of coffee in which he offers refills.
4. Checks VWBB.
5. Makes up a fake schedule to tell Orange to post in his absence.
