you no what i think another reason the shivans wanted the capella system to go super nova was so they could mine more... possibly get home and if any of yhou have played starcraft... there is a zerg unit called a deflier where it can make this giant cloud thing kinda like a nebuala and it protects all its units... well what if somehow the nebula protected the shivan units and made it so they could go where ever they wanted in the system quickly undectable... the shivans have basically just set up another foot hold in terran vasudan space.. there just one step closer now to invading the rest of space.. i may be completly wrong on this but i think this could be another advantage the shivans have.. cause remeber the terrans dont have sensers to scan the hole entire nebula.

In reality, it would take hundreds of years for the temperature to cool down and for the radiation to die out. I dont think even the Shivan can withstand that kinda environment. They would need lots and lots of

heyas long time no post, a very long time. I havn't had the time to read all the posts, but yeah, capella isn't big enough to go supernova, just nova. And if it was a regualr nova then there would be a pulsar(neutron star) in the middle of a new nebula- of course this is only if it was regulay, who knows what it is know after the shivans screwed it up.

Capella is too small and at the wrong stage of it's life to go supernova by any natural method. Have a look at this thread and I`ve got some unnatural methods
