uh, Krytor, a lot of us are American.
<--- USA!
By the way, if I have to make an official announcement I will, but I refuse to allow any Ashrak vs Edwin crap to start up again, or continue. If I see it, I'm gonna be irritated. We don't need personal wars going on at this site nor on this forum. It's part of the reason the VBB went south, and obviously we don't want that.

Both Ashrak and Edwin are the same age, that partialy explanes their attitudes...
About British VS US thing... Its not logical... I mean thei're so much alike, Britain is more like an extension of the US than Europe, politicaly, military and economicaly, differences are that US ppl are slightly dumber in average and the british are a little snobbier

I've currently got a lot of American friends as foreign (visiting) students for the last academic year and the differences are actually a lot larger than you think. The differences in culture are quite large. For example although Americans are perhaps a little less focussed on global events when compared to Britain, they don't have quite the same sense of misplaced pride (i.e. blowing our trumpet about any of our national achievements). I have found Americans to be a little more open and friendly but I still prefer Brits as my friends as that is the way I have been brought up and these are the people I'm used to.
It's true that where America leads Britain tends to follow but culturally the differences are still there. I would say that Britain is about halfway between the US and Europe in terms of a cultural identity (in my experiences anyway).

True, and I can say the very same thing living only an hour away from the American border. There are some cultural differences between Americans and Canadians and Canadians and English, and English and Americans and so on and so forth. Some of those differences are barely describable. But we all have alot in common too, the small things should not set us apart.
This is the problem with the world, we are so concerned about the small things that we forget that we are all human beings and that we all live here on this planet and we've got to be damned careful to make sure that we don't screw up any more than we have already.

Hey hey hey! I was being a bit sarcastic over there (on purpose) even if a bit of the essence of that my comment is indeed what I think, I know there are a lot more differences than that. Most of wich Icefire and triggy mentioned, I recal stating similar arguments in another topic a couple of months ago.
However Both US and british have these 2 somewhat ofensive way of thinking:
US: lack of thinking, most ignore the world outside and are ignorant to a scandalous degree I'm not stating they're all dumb, I would say 60% are indeed ignorant/plain dumb 30% cultural level on par with europe, 10% Super-inteligent, the workhouse behind US success (I wish It could be aplied to their present president )
Britain: Irritating Snobism by many of medium and High classes: whats not britsh is no good. And tend to have that superiority attitude I realy find irritating.
Average british in general is much better, petty that most of the time its the irritating image of those who have the power, to speak for all UK.
