ahh well, that's why my physics teacher told me. but that was high school stuff, i didnt do it at college, so i guess they were trying to make it simple for us

Capella is quite small, so it probably wouldn't become a black hole like many supernovae theoretically do.
It probably wouldn't become a nebula in itself either. The matter from the explosions would probably join and become part of other nebulae or just compact together to make new stars or planets or other stuff that I don't know about because I'm just a kid.

It's about twice the size of our star, which means it wouldnt very likleybecome a black hole. The outer rim of the star, the corona, would be blasted off into space to form a Panetary Nebula, such as the Crab Nubula. The inner part of the star would be compacted down and would form into a neutron star.
Of course since it wouldn't blow up naturally, it would just shrink instead, giving off a planetary nebula, but much smaller, and it would appear at a slower rate. The star would turn into a brown dwarf and eventually fade away.

If the Capella gone supernova-if ever, because irt`s small a bit- there would be probably a White dwarf, maybe pulsar.
but it`s almoust impossible Capella would be a Black Hole, because in the supernova explosion most of the star`s mass is spreading as the nebula, and only the nudge turns to a dwarf, a pulsar or a black hole.
Probably, only the massive stars with masses about 10 MSolis and more can became a Black Hole.
Im not quite sure since I have no Scientific American in here where I`m writing it all now, but I `m almoust sure Capella is too small to became a Black Hole.
Oh, another thing: laser cannot be seen in a vacuum, plasma- can be seen when it produces the light.
Another thing: a ship with the engines turned off wouldn`t have stopped in tha space, but just continued moving in the with the same spped. You couldn`t change the direction.
Oh I`d say FS2 looks cool just as it is. Finally, it`s a game not a space sim designed by NASA for NASA.

Cool
You campaign puts the player how many years after the capella supernova? Depending on the acual distance from capella earth is it would be pretty cool to see the star go nova in a mission. Dont have a clue how to do it but damn can you picture it?
Star explodes,
"What the hell was that?"
"Capella went nova!"
"That happened 12(?) years ago!"
"Yeah it took that long for the light to reach us here"
you could play it out from there maby have a pilot recall his brush with death when capella went *pop*, then mabye a giant space dionsaur starts to eat ships or something like that.

It wouldn`t be too hard to do. Make a model which is a tiny dot on one side and textured to look like a supernova on the other and just turn it around half way through the mission (or leap out and get instantly replaced by another one facing the other way round)
Hmmm. I`m goiving myself ideas

Edit. Opps! Pushed quote instead of edit!
