I found FS2 for sale:
http://store.yahoo.com/dealdealdeal/300252.html
They also have the FS1/ST combo pack, but it's cheaper to get it from Interplay's store.

I found FS2 at my local EB. The next day, all the copies were gone... but I didn't mind because one of the copies was sitting proudly next to my comp.

I just wonder if anyone has ever e-mailed interplay and asked if they are ever going to get out of their caves and release FS3. If Interplay gets enough messages from Freespace-loving people, they just have to bend sometime in the future, right? That is, of course, if Volution is still willing to create episode 3.
And if we dont get a official Freespace 3, there is nothing in our way to create our own continuence of the great Freespace story. Btw, what where the thing some of you talked about; "Freespace Forever" ? Do they have a homepage?
The way I see it, freespace has the potential to become something as popular as Star Wars or Babylon 5, it has a great story that might be adopted by Hollywood in the future... Who knows?
One thing is for sure; if there are ever going to be "Freespace - The Movie", I`ll be sure to get front-row seat in the cinema...
If this is ever going to happen; we will need a hit sequel to the games.
Stargazer.

FreeSpace Forever (FSF) was a bunch of people at HLP who wanted to make a new game engine that was compatable with FS2 data and designed for multi-platform use. Most likely using OpenGL and SDL. Now with the source code release the idea has shifted to giving the FS2 game engine a major overhaul, starting with small fixes and features. Eventually we want to put all sorts of stuff into it that people have always wanted, anis as textures, fighter beam weapons, movable submodels that can be scripted, and a whole lot more. FSF has a forum, but the activity has really shifted to HLP's recently created Source Code forum:
http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=50
Particularly since that was the only place, AFAIK, to really talk about the source code for a while when VWBB had DNS trouble. It's not exactly an official team type thing yet, there's no real list of members or duties or anything. It's more like an Open Source group that's still getting organized, but HLPers, like me, have been steadily tinkering with the source code. (I myself have posted a 2 line code modification that fixes is_tagged that's so simple I'm surprised the Volition team didn't do it. )

Click on the link to understand why we aren`t getting FS3 from interplay.

I bought my copy of FS2 off of eBay. After shipping & handling I paid $21.00. It was in the original box (the one with a Deimos Class ship on the front) with all of manuals & paperwork.
There is always copies of FS2 on eBay

I bought FS2 at its early release in Europe. I was fortunate enough to live in the Netherlands then, so I got it in English. (French voices really suck, suck, SUCK)
However we have a shop like Virgin in France, called Fnac. You can find a lot of low-price re editions there. I found for instance a copy of FS1, FS1 Silent Threat and FS2 all in the same packaging.
I have now two copies of FS2 he he he
