No, I was going to give them 10 hitpoints a piece so a snowflake would tear them off
Two Omega's can fire directly at each other with their beams and still maintain most of their forward firepower. They can take quite a bit of beating before being disarmed, not too much, but a fair amount.
You want beams on a Nova, do it in mission.

BTW will the next version of the Nova have more heavily armored turrets? They are way too weak right now.

It may be prudent to modify the existing hull so that the forward two turrets on the head of the ship have say the light x-ray lasers you previously mentioned. If you need a specific screen reference of what I've mentioned then feel free to ask and I'll direct you to it.
Ummm....please post a screen shot of that Nova firing beams in ItB. I have never noticed that and I'm pretty sure not one Earth ship fired beams in the whole movie. To my knowledge EA ships with beams were non-existant during the Earth-Minbari War.

Well . ..
I dont really have the ability to get a screen shot, but if you have the copy of itB I can tell you where it is.
Pop in your casette and go in about 35 minutes I think. First we have the thing with the Prometheus or whatever the ship is called that starts the war. Then we get a shot of Delenn crying like a baby, commercial break, and after the break Londo talks about the Minbari starting their jihad.
Now, the first shot we have is of a Minbari Fleet with a red nebula as a backdrop. Then from there it switches to an Earth Fleet being blown apart (it also contains about 5-6 Omega destroyers btw, which weren't in service at the time, but CGI people are dumb I think).
Now, when it switches to the Earth Fleet, put your finger in the middle of your TV screen. Below your finger should be a Hyperion, to a right and above the Hyperion is a Nova Dreadnought and to the left of the Hyperion is another Nova. Look closely on the Nova to the left, before it gets blown apart you can briefly see two thin beams being fired from her turrets. Now, look at the scene again, dont look at the Nova itself but just above it, when the shot first shifts you can see a stream of blue pulses in midflight, they're only on the screen for a split second but from their trajectory they clearly came from the Nova also firing the beams.

Yeah, we argued about this already. No need to do it again.
Its probably a CGI glitch or a very early Earth beam.

They have two barrels per turret and one weapon can fire from each barrel (as I see it that is the situation with the Novas having two barrels in the first place). I don't know much about making the models so I don't know how much modification to the ship is required to allow this (if having two weapons on the same turret is at all possible in FS2).
Do you mean like the three barrels on the GTD Orion's five big, yellow turrets? You can assign each a different weapon, but I'm not sure if it works very well in game. Never tried it though.

You can set a subobject to act as 2+ turrets, anyway - look at the side Flakjs on an Aeolus for example...not sure how well it would work on a 2 part turret, though....

Early Earth Beams were around according to AoG.
I think that the Nova turrets are about right, especially as you have to destroy a hell of a lot of them to significantly reduce a Nova's firepower.

I test having different weapons on the Orion. At first it didn't work very well (as I assigned one AAF to one barrel, A flak to another and the standard laser to another). The problem was that it seemed to favour one of the three weapons and stick with that. However, I tried it again using diffent beams (BVas, BGreen, and TerSlash) and once the vasudan beam fired, the next beam to fire was the BGreen. So it does work.

Unfortunately, it would have to work all the time in order for it to be considered reliable.

If I remember corerectly, the Omega forward guns can only fire front and up or down but nor sideways.
Says the episode Endgame.

The turrets can turn sideways a bit, but not as much as up or down.

I watched Endgame today.. I don't remember any reference to what the beams of an Omega can do..
(though there is that dumb line where the mars resistance's mole for some reason feels the need to say to Garibaldi, Franklin, Lyta and the resistance leader: "the destroyers never land....")
I'd have replied: <SARCASM>"No?!?!!! You DON'T SAY!?!?!"</SARCASM>

Hehe, maybe she was new to space warfare or something. For all we know, she was still getting used to the whole "there's no gravity in space" concept.

it happens a lot in B5, and other things - characters saying things that are obviously for the benefit less attentive viewers'
Severed Dreams:
"The Churchill's coming in"
Ivanova: "That's General Hague's ship!"
(she might've added, "that ship we all know about that's been on the news so much")
