Your hud idea wouldnt work .
1. You cant move the "incoming fire" indicators up or left
2. The speed bar has to have the EXACT vertical SIZE as in my screenie . otherwise it wouldn't be functioning. You have to play around with the hud to understand why.

I think it's pretty obvious that it's not possible to get a HUD looking particularly close to the starfurie's.. but I think that we should get as close as possible, then try and get the sections we cannot move closer to babylon five in general.

Do you actually ever see the cocpit of a fighter other than a starfury?
Actually this makes me wonder, will you make your campaigns so that we can play them from either side or would this be too complex?

OK, so I never realised that you'd be flying all the ships, what with my lack of knowing *anything* about the MOD. As far as I knew it was only going to be in the Starfuries. It's a valid point that you'll be flying all the ships, but I don't think you have to raise your voice over it. A simple mention of the fact would've done nicely.

Also, I wasn't trying to steal Skullars job. I've already said his stuff looks good. I was just trying to offer some suggestions and help out if I can. I have no intention of trying to interfere with the making of the MOD as I have no time to make a proper commitment at the moment. I was just offering some suggestions and trying to show what I meant with that picture.

If you guys treat everybody who offers a hand with such attitude it'll be a wonder if anyone wants to download the MOD at all.

Yeah Snipes. Isn't it Ironic! Someone with my name in a Babylon 5 forum. How could I've not noticed when I signed in... Oh wait a second... I *did* notice! You don't think that was the point of my name do you... Nah. Of course not. That whole sarcasm thing is just a *big* myth.

And did you actually read the posts? Do you actually know why I'm annoyed? You'll notice it has nothing to do with B5. Just the way people reacted when I tried to offer a hand. This has nothing to do with the show, so your *witty* comment really has no basis in this arguement.

How about someone who has something to do with this whole flaming match say something? I'd like to know why Londo felt the need to bite my head off when I offered my opinion... Kinda like the name of the thread suggested?

The HUD could look like Barney the Purple Dinosaur, I'll still d/l the mod!

And a word about the circular pattern of the bars/target vector triangles, in real fighter aircraft (the F/A-18 anyway) there is the same sort of target vector pointer triangle, also there is a large circle in the HUD that roughly corresponds to the side bars in the FS2 HUD, which represent the FOV of the particular weapons system selected. So the circle changes size as you cycle through, Sidewinder, AMRAAM, etc. All while the rest of the information- altitude, airspeed, heading, pitch angle is all in a square format.

I guess you could assume that since it is using energy weapons for the most part, the StarFury would have an onboard targeting package which would have a constant FOV and not be weapon specific.

Firstly, Londo: 34 ppl in a row may've forgoten that you could fly different ships, but I never knew that in the first place. That combined with the fact that you were using caps and bold (the recognized sign of yelling) seemed like you were shouting at me for offering my suggestions. Sorry that I took offence, but considering the circumstances I think you can understand why I might have gotten annoyed.

Snipes: Even if it was a joke, why the hell did you go and put it in after my post in *this* thread? Why not in my original thread when we were all talking about the name? If you honestly think people wouldn't see that as a bad insult under the circumstances then I think it's you who doesn't interact with people much.

Also, why do these things always boil down to arguments about who has the most friends? It's the most pointless and illogical arguement ever, especially considering that the original arguement probably has nothing to do with people and how many friends they have.

As for being irrational, I ask you again to look at the circumstances and *think* about how I could've gotten annoyed. I can garauntee you that if you go on a forum using caps, someone will think you are shouting and take offence. It may be the way Londo has always posted, but I've only been here a week and therefore I don't know about these things. I wasn't being irrational. I just misread how someone meant to say something and got annoyed because I thought someone had an attitude. Maybe if you'd just pointed out the facts instead of making *jokes* we could have avoided all this.

I'll apologise for misunderstanding what was said. Maybe I over reacted. But I don't think you can blame me. I've only been here a week so you can't expect me to know everything as soon as I log in.

hmm i can't remember... but im pretty sure its not "hey lets flame eachother for no reason....

oh wait... i see the name:P

anyway... the latest HUD looks great! it could be used for all the fighters and no one would complain(well, maybe the llamas*ahem*). And i didn't know you could create a different HUD for every ship.... wonder why people don't do that often.

We can have a different HUD for every fighter? NO WAY. If so, the ORIGINAL freespace 2 would have used this option.

If there COULD have been different huds , I'd expect the nial to have its own HUD, like we saw in that Season 5 episode when Linear pilots a nial.
