OK, I contacted four PC Games magazines (PCZone from UK, PCGamer from USA, Gamestar from Germany and PCGames from Germany) that will hopefully try to find out more on this.

Produce a refrence to FreeSpace and start selling it.

THEN wait and see who sues you.

Maybe they meant distribution rights? AFAIK i know, Virgin has those in the UK, but Interplay retains the trademark.
