The Olympus bug might have something to do with the TBP open specific Olympus model.. most specifically its "mass" value.

Just so you all know the Olympus "bounces" when ever it is hit by a weapon (or at least all of the weapons that I have fire at it).

Yepiiiiieeeee it works!
After deleting DirectX completely via DirectX Buster and reinstalling it, the problem was blown away.
Now I have some questions about TBP.
Is the sliding implemented? It is in the "key settings" but when I hit the key to activate the "right thruster" nothing happens.
2nd: Isn't the Nial's firerate too high? And does it make damage at all? I havn't tryed against fighters yet, but on an Orion station (which looks great with the new glowmap) it made no damage at all.
BTW the "warp" works with the Nial too .

1) Turned off sliding in the tables (Speed: 0, 0, 90 etc, just set to 30, 30, 90 or something). AI screws up with it.
2) You are using the unbalanced, not supported yet, SCP version that doesn't really work properly. But it looks cool. Play with as you wish.

My guess is that your virtual memory size is low or completely off.
Exact location of virtual memory settings vary, but you can find it in Control Panel / System or simply click My computer with your secondary mouse button and select Properties.

How do I get the 3D mode selector window back?
It asked for settings when I started it for the first time and I obviously gave it unsuitable parameters since it switches to software D3D... The game is incredibly ugly in software mode but the program doesn't ask for new D3D options anymore. Naturally, the software mode cuts off any "advcanced" 3D options so I won't be able to enjoy the benefits of TBP Open before someone tells me how to change the rendering options.
Thanks beforehand for the noble soul who knows the answer.

Any chance for enhanced 3d view?
Like the one seeing in here....
http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/showthread.php?threadid=15056
If you go there you will see that it works. I know it works because I am using this feature with WARZONE and it really works wonders.
All those pretty fighters. Imagine being able to actually SEE what you are flying. Is that not worthwhile?

try adding the -window comand line option, it will cause the game to be run in window mode and for some reason the configuration window always pops up in windowed mode

The game does weird things whenever an Olympus jumps in. The IFF tells me there's an enemy Zephyr moving at 18 m/s that is only 18m from me, but the Zephyr is nowhere to be found. This happens in Corruption and in the Earthforce Gauntlet.
Also, the executable says it "failed to create device" whenever I run it so I've been using FS2 Open 3.5.

If you only want to play the B5 mod try TBP-Base from here If you want to play FS2 as well try this and then go here to find out how to make it into a full version.

I am testing a new EXE, here is a thread detailing some of the more interesting thngs, but there are a number of improvements,
this version uses a 24 bit back buffer, what does that mean, well it means FS2 no longer has that nasty clipping problem it once did,
it has an adgustable FOV, activate the debug codes (freespace2.com) and press'~' + alt + '-' or '+' and you will change the feidl of view,
shine mapping, by defalt an objects texture will be used as a shine map, you can specify you're own by nameing it "what_ever_texture_name_here"-shine, in game the surface will apear more metalic and shiny. note; I han't tested this effect with TBP's back lighting technique. odd things may occur
NOTE: there is a specal SCP launcher you will have to get I beleve a link is given in that thread, if you don't run the launcher then the game will crash imediately.
BTW, this is the bigest improvement sence glow mapping.

I have just downloaded the TBOpen and I am new to useing it.
I'd like to know how I can enable it. Do I need the FSOpen downloaded and installed or is it working without it?
What kind of options does it support?
I know that it is just some kind of pre-release, but I really would like to test it, seeing the improvements in action.
