[B]You might want the Icanus.

Stats:
15KM+ : Icanus is 20ish
At least 15+ Beam Cannons : Icanus has 14-15 BFSilvs, 1 super beam
Fighterbay, Engine, Weapons, Sensors, Navagation, etc : Yep
At least 40+ Turrents/Flaks/Missile Launcher : 22 flak, 9 double barrel laser cannons, 10 quad torpedo launchers, 10 aaf, 10 missile launchers

Could you give us a turret count for the other big ships in the EA pack? (My computer dislikes modelview and I can't be bothered to fiddle with the tables all the time until I get it right.)

OK, at risk of an all but invisible post, I'm going to try this colour here too.

Anyway, I think that the "Why didn't the Shivans send 80 Sathannases in FS1" argument is utterly pointless for two reasons (3 if you count the "[V] hadn't thought of them yet".

Firstly, we really have very little idea as to what the Sathannases are designed for. True, they're excellent warships, but their unique star killing abilities and the sheer number of them (I can't concieve anything that would require 80 Sathannases to fight it) makes me believe that that ability is somewhat incidental, and not their main function.

The second, and far more significant reason is that the Shivans are an utterly alien species, and as such have utterly alien minds. We can never really hope to comprehend their motives for anything. Using a fleet of Cains and Lucifers could be the result of, say, a Shivan psychological predetermination to never use more than precisely what is needed to overwhelm your opponent. Possibly the shivans like the thrill of battle, the euphoria of a close victory (hence the abscence of sheath shields and beams on every ship in their fs1 fleet). Perhaps the Shivans were testing the Terrns and Vasudans, seeinghow they respond to certain levels of pressure (not as ridiculous as it may sound - after all, we don't know what comparitive values Shivans place on scientifc knowledge (as compared to lives and ships lost).

No Sci Fi has ever really captured these posychological differences, particularly not FS style Sci Fi (based on combat). The closest was Timothy Zahns original thrawn rilogy, but even that probably idn't emphasize the undoubtedly limitless variations in alien minds and psychologies.
