They are next to the cockpit, quite hard to see cause the upper "wing" overshadows it. They look similar to the ones below.

Could just as easily be sensor pods, guidance systems, or any number of non weapon too.

About the dual guns on the bottom: maybe the big ones are the actual plasma outlets and the little ones are sensor arrays for rangefinding (used for purposes like calibrating the magnetic field used to hold the plasma together, or firing a low-power particle beam to clear dust from the space ahead for the pulses to travel freely in (I-War 2, Antimatter PBC)). The 'upper cannons' could be the arrays underneath the top wings and they could be used if the pilot diverts energy from the engines (less maneuverability - so not critical against raiders) to power them up and give twice the firepower.

mighty bluestar
Not to backtrack , but in scaling ships in fs2 i have noticed descrepincies in sizes on different web sites. This is what i know.
The whitestar was roughly 475 meters long (+/-).now to put that into perspective for all those sci-fi fans the enterprise from the latest movie is roughly 650meters long(and is the longest ship in the fleet) The ship from DS9 (defiant class) is only 275 meters long... So in perspective B5 ships are HUGE! I think the strangest thing to think about in the B5 universe is that all these huge ships are flying around with no/virtually no shields of any type except for their sheer bulk. Sorry to drag another sci-fi name into this but i think to understand them all makes a mod even better. I mean each brick is over 1800 meters long (x 2.2=feet!)
The bluestar is a nice addidtion to the project and for all those whom want to steer the whitestar this is my advice----------first try out the olympus.(they are roughly the same size!) And if you think the handling is good with the olympus then i guess that you could try out the whitestar..........
