FS1
Fighter: Ulysses - it can carry the advanced disruptor and I seem to have a love of disecting the enemy ships before I kill them.
Capship: Lucifer - two words: big guns
FS2
Fighter: Terran Mara - its fast and has almost the missle load of the Tauret.
Capship: GTCv Sapaha - the Iceni was cool but this ship just looks better.

...um...
didn't we fight the Vasudans with terran design ships in FS1? And then we kicked...er...prodded serious buttock too...

I remeber reading from somewhere that the Terran ship designs and technology were from contributions from the Vasudans. Remeber, Terrans and Vasudans alike were both facinated by each other when they first met. The peaceful contact came to an end only when the GTD Goliath was destroyed by the Shivans (but the blame was placed on renegade Vasudans). That started the Great War; the relationship was peaceful at first.

Ummm. I think you have your facts mixed up there, NS33. Head to the FS2 Tech Room and do some reading, it'll be good for you.

...wasn't that because of something about "The Conversation"?
A Terran made a mistake during one with the Emperor, I think...

V left the beginnings of the TV war deliberately vague, in case they ever made an expansion pack or whatnot involving it. (FSRefBible). Probably due to more than 1 reason, though - all wars are.

Yep...
else...would it be because the Emperor was allergic to fluffy plushy things? (hey...it is possible that the ambassador offered a teddybear as a ift for the Emperor, right?)

Eh, I got that stuff from the "official" timeline here at VW. The Shivans had shown up years before the T-V war, hence the start of the war itself. The destruction of (at least I think it was) the Goliath by the Shivans was the final spark needed to trigger the conflict. Resentment had already grown amongst the Terrans that the Vasudans thought of themselves as superior, and Vasudans that the Terrans thought they had a better "culture."
Whatever it is, the Shivans were most definately around before the official declaration of war between the Ts and the Vs.

Noooo.... Terrans meet Vasudans. Tensions mount until a diplomatic faux pas turns into hostility. War rages for fourteen years, coming to a stalemate; Shivans suddenly appear and start killing everyone. Ts and Vs unite to turn back the Shivans, but not after Vasuda gets glassed and Sol is sealed off.
On a side note, the GTD Goliath was killed by kamikaze Anubis fighters during the 14 year war.
What drugs are you on?
cause I want some...
