True.

On the other hand we also had Bugs.

<shudders>

The reason I asked about Enterprise is that I seem to remember an episode I saw on SKY|ONE that was in 4x3.

And, yes, I know we've gone WAY off topic.

Off Topic??? Noooooo!!!!

The thread was a bit O/T from the start... from FarScape to Sci-Fi Channel to Vivendi (with a bit of B5 related stuff), to Space (with again some B5 related stuff), to Entreprise, to Star Trek, to Red Dwarf and back to Star Trek... But at least we talked about B5 in it...

BTW I've got to watch the original Star Trek (in colors, not the B/W) on Space at 2pm every weekdays (unless I'm working day or night shift (sleeping during that time))...

But now, got to watch Late Show with David Letterman.

Whee! In a desparate attempt to get back on topic...

Didn't I read somewhere that some / all of B5 was actually filmed in widescreen?

I'm sure, way back when the show first appeared th\at I read something and that it was scoped down to 4x3 for braodcast, but that the original shoot was 16x9.

Or maybe I just entered an alternate universe. It's always a possibility.

Yep. It was shot in widescreen. They left the titles in widescreen but turned the rest into 4x3. I think the DVD should be in widescreen though.

All I know is that Babylon 5 is awesome and is a great alternative to Star Trek, not to say that I don't love Trek, but the great thing about B5 was the continuous storyline where you could really miss something if you skipped an episode, the only Trek show that in my opinion, comes close to a continuous story is DS9. But it didn't have the political intrigue and characters that are B5. Well...........HURRAY for BABYLON 5 DVDs!

I picked mine up last Monday (November 11th), but my wife doesn't know. I owned up to buying another TV series on DVD, but didn't tell her about the B5 ones. My sympathies to Mr. Grey Area!

Back in 2000 when SciFi (a smarter one) started to run B5 they chose to do it in wide screen format which I thought was pretty cool.
