He wants cheats that let him ADVANCE in the game.
There are no codes that you can use, but you could always muck around with VP editor. Go to descent-freespace.com and look around for it.
A lot of the fun of Freespace is from the sense of urgency in the plot. Cheating just messes up the experience for you.

It's a trainer that uses the freespace 2 cheat codes but hacks it so you can advance. It works I know I've tried it

But why, oh why?
Why cheat to advance levels (to go back in basics...)? Usually, there is at least something happening during the missions that ignoring them will result as massive lack of knowledge and eventually lack of any and all interest into the game. I know cheaters who've actually jumped levels if they felt too hard, then complained about how "irrational" and "unlogic" the game is. Duh.
Let's take, for example, the Col and the SJ... Hehe.

There's nothing wrong with cheating if it increases your enjoment of the game, or helps you get past somewhere you are totally stuck at..... I mean, a challenge is good, but a game should never be irratatingly frustrating... I have Operation flashpoint, and I've stopped playing it after only a month or so after getting horribly stuck on it. And that's just wrong, and it's a shame, cos the game mechanics are fantastic - it's just too hard for people like me (who are crap)

Hey Aldo just keep few day break and try again at first or second try you'll get it completed, trust me it works
Played OFP trough with only having do that couple times, you play it a little and you get hang on it...
I'm personally against cheating... Last time I cheated was when Rogue Squadron came on my comp and I wanted to fly Tie Interceptor

I tried it about 14 times IIRC before going 'sod it!'. Last time I actually cheated was.... er....Max Payne I think. I got effectively stuck with 90% damage (or so) and no painkillers, so i had to cheat to continue, or just give up and play something else.
