Excuse me while I put on my asbestos suit.

:AHEM:

The carrier does have AAA beams, read over its description again.

The whole *takes forever for fighters to get anywhere* did you forget they have subspace capability, you launch from the Aquitaine in the nebula on normal power and return to it by using subspace... interesting.

And it wasnt against other ships against the meson BOMB, which last I checked there arent that many of to steal.

And as for what universe I'm in, I'm in one I've only played through a half dozen times (and trust me I know thats not many) and where I'm at is fifteen years or so after the Capella incident.

And how about I cut the fighter compliment of the carrier in half and make it so it can survive a broadside from an Orion with 15% hull strength. Happy?

Dissent is no longer a problem (pirates are) and these battlegroups enable the tracking and destruction of rogues.

Now if you'll excuse me Im going to go defend some transports and watch the Colossus go down.

Sarcasm Noted.

Who knows how long a jump lasts. You even get enough time in a single jump to take down the Lucifer in FS1!

Also put into consideration briefing, fueling, arming, launching and the rest of the preparation for the deployment of fighters, the time all adds up.

I really wouldn't like to be a fighter controller on the Carrier.

No kidding 125 wings of fighters. Alpha go, Beta go, -eight minutes later- just go already.

And as for the battlegroup, last night I figured out what it was going to be

GTD Twilight -The newest Hecate class to be built, it is the first to incorporate the modifications to its weapons and fighterbays. (Yes the only name I could think of was Twilight because I kept thinking about the mod). Capable of sustaining a full frontal assault from a Sathanas Juggernaut and surviving she is truly a warship.

GTCa Eurynome -The GTVAs carrier class ship, the first of her kind, holding 125 fighter and bomber wings provide ample cover for her fleet.

*place GTC Aeolus and GTCv Deimos here*

Squadrons serving on the Twilight

17th Shadows of Death -12 Ares Class Fighters
Motto -"#@$* the Shivans WE'RE the Great Destroyers."

92nd Diamond Sharks -12 Banshee Class Interceptors

111th Stingrays -14 Boanerges Class Bombers

:I won't post the story I had in my mind last night, involved some remnant Shivans and the battlegroup *smartly* coming in from behind:

I agree ships in the FS 2 are perfectly balanced.

personally I like the idea that Moloch has a little fighterbay, probably able to carry just a few wings of fighters for self- defence.

BTW I`m goingg to have my holiday and AFTER that at the beginning of August I should be finally able to release an anti-subsystems torpedo, the Cyclops S.
