I've made an EMP cannon, the thing to remember is to give it a blast radius

cool. The EMP cannon is sort of a Ion Cannon without the ability to knock its systems out. You should combine both into one Ion cannon that disables and gives a emp effect at the same time

Good Idea, that would be more like the Ion Cannon of Star Wars cause even if the blast barely misses it would still have an effect.

that really peeved me off...

they showed all those cool videos of the cannon vaping huge areas (& Kane's Temple), when its just a poxy zap...
the Obelisk of Light (in C&C anyway, TS's one was ****e) was better...
the first time i heard the sound, i thought 'whats that', then ZAP! one of my Mammouth Tanks exploded

(anybody else notice that if you destroyed the temple with conventional weapons, you saw Kane crushed, but if you vaped the thing with the Ion cannon, you saw Kane get fried (i guess that was just a bonus ending, as it would totally invalidate Tiberian Suns plot))

I made a set of Ion cannons for the Bastion but it looked stange to have barreled turrets on the sleek lines of the hull. so I chose not to but I have plans for a Battle Cruiser which will have them, for my campaign Dogs of War Pics coming soon

you could allways use a desin similer to what the M1 aprams use for their turrets, they have a pretty sleek turret.

IMHO, the turret on the Abrams is not nearly as sleek-looking as the one on the Merkava. Check these out:

So am I right or just biased?

The Merkava has different proportions than the Abrambs. Turrets alone, I suppose you could say that the Merkava turret is sleeker...but the Abrambs is overall sleeker...in my opinion (and I have no bias...I'm not American or Israeli)

while i am an american, i don't consider my self biased. the abrams tank, while not being quite as sleek as the isreali tank, would be much better suited being made into a capship turret because of the turret being wider. the isreli tank uses an autoloader system wich allows for a substantually smaller turret. the abrams still uses a human loader becase it as(A)faster, (B)alot harder to break, and (C) is smarter than the auto loader system.
i only the suggested the abrams because it was the first one that popped into my head as being suitable. a british chalenger or the german on (forgot the name) would also do nicely since they also use a rather wide tuuret.
oh, another reason i used the abrams is because it would be alot easier to make since it consists allmost entirely of flat surfaces.

OOps, my mistake, the isreali tank does have a loader, but it also has a troop compartment for about six troops, unlike all other main battle tanks. as a result, its engine is in the bow.
most of the extra space in the abrams tank is used by weapons storage in the rear of the turret with all of the electronics shoved into the front.

The the main difference between the two, is in the armor, and the computer systems that are in them. The american tanks mostly have Chama (or something like that) Armor which makes explosions go out instead of into the tank. And they have better computer controlled systems. The Israeli tanks are still very deadly, but are like the Russian T-80's and T-82's which lack the range and electronic systems of the for night assaults of the american tanks. If you want proof of the effectiveness of the M-1 over the T-80's and T-82's, look at some Desert Storm footage.

I will start on the Ion Cannon Tommorrow. I have been working on a fighter laser that kick's ass!!!!!! I replaced the Ahketon (temporarly) with a Pulsar Laser that is similar to the Pulsar laser of Tachyon, but has the hitting power of the Maxim and the Shield power of a Promethus. Velocity of the Maxim too. But it sucks the energy out of ya though. Great overall weapon against fighters and capital ships alike.
