did you get the verson packaged with Silent Threat? that automatically upgrades/downgrades to version 1.4...

Yes, but silent threat is a campaign addon for FS1, albeit a bad one, but it come on its own disk, often with FreeSpace... When it is installed, it automaticly overrides freespace, and sets it to version 1.4...

I have WinME and it runs just fine. Try cutting some of the programs in your background. Make sure your system is completely optimal.

hmmm...when i tried to play it today i notized that there is another ( or the same ) problem. In the menus the game often just holds ( the music too ) for 5 - 15 seconds and then i can't do anything than wait....or sometimes when it doesnt come back it helps to open the CDRom with the FS1 CD and just close it again.
This sometimes happens inflight too, but then only for a few seconds
