Farscape was also very good (I rank it about equal with Stargate).

Farscape had a habit of doing stuff very differently from most series. An example of this is an episode where the main character got cloned. In most sci-fi series they'd end the episode with one of the characters getting killed in some noble way. In Farscape there were two Crichton's for about half the season.

Another example is the episode where Crichton and Aeryn swap bodies. Crichton does what most of would do the second he's alone. Open up his suit and have a good look and feel of his new pair of breasts

It's also worth watching for the simple fact that although Crichton starts out normal after years in space with no human contact he has actually gone fairly mad Most Sci-fi heroes don't call their gun Winona and talk to it

It had its moments I think...it was pretty dark and gritty and sometimes the episodes seemed a little uninspired (or at least I didn't like them at the time) but I haven't seen it recently so I may not remember everything as well as I do B5.

It had a very cool concept as a TV show and its too bad that it didn't make it a little further.

yea, some of the episodes were particularily lame ... no worse than some B5 eps tho

it really was a shame that the FOX execs killed it off (in favor of something lame that I can't really remember now) ... the script for the second season was supposedly really good. I guess it was meant to be three seasons, and the plug got pulled.

S: AAB was cool... it reminded me of Starship Troopers...
It's a shame that it only got 24 eps.

Hi. What i most liked on Babylon 5 was the fact that Humanity wasn't the "Super Duper Uber Power Race" like in every Star Trek Series. For example ST TOS -> they killed a Planet killer which was very very (don't know the exact age) old. And nobody else could beat. Or TNG and Voyager. Oh BORG. Ok lets kill them. And the Borg always attacked Earth with only one Cube. That is improbable. (but i have to say the only thing which was good at the stories the Borg was WOLF 359). Or another example DS9. Dominion War Defiant inside the wormhole from the other side there where coming 2000+ Dominion Ships. Sisko talks to the Wormhole beings and "pow" the Dominion Ships where gone. That is the good thing in Babylon 5. We wouldn't stand a chanche against the Minbari (even whith Warlock) not to mention the Vorlons, Shadows or the other Firstones. And that is what i like on SG1 we can be glad to call the Asgard Friends. And i think it was a great idea to Use the Myth of the old Nordic Gods (Thor - Asgard) and the Egyptian Gods (Goa'uld) for the series. So was the Idea that the vorlons altered the DNA of the younger Races. I like the Idea that we could not affect all things in our Life.

That i agree with, that is the one big issue with ST, they always have a maraculous soloution to any problem that comes up. B5 seems to portray a more, not realistic but more "plausible" future IMO.

Not only that.... the main character always seems to know the solution before the problem ever occurred....
