Did you just get pics from FS View? It's lame how much better yours looks than mine and I rendered that entire scene.

Nooo! Plasma, Pletcher scares me! You know that....!
By the way, my quickly slapped together pics were all FS view rips, not renders at all, Dark I believe renders his in TS with bump mapping and some other tweaks before exporting them. (at least in the case with ships that have bump-maps)

All of my pics were done with Paint Shop Pro. Various pixelation techniques and shadow architecture took hours to complete...

so all thouse efetcts were post rendered, ok I thought you used 3DsMax or some other 3d program. I have been experimenting with animations and such. quite sucsessfully I might add. the hardest thing in them is adding weapon effects (animated) and things like stars and engen glows. beams are supriseingly easy.

um.....could you rephrase the question?
Bobboau, you can create a star field quite easily, just make a sphere covered with a repeating stars texture (set the UV to the cube-type to avoid the nasty stretched look around the poles of the sphere), then simply flip all normals and make it huge.

The drone thingies. Did you make them yourself or did you get them from someone. They look cool.

Ah those, glad you like em
Yes another of my various creations for the Arsenal of Darkness campaign, they are rather puny and have no shields (well most of them), but their reactors are devoted entirely to engines and weaponry so don't underestimate them.
I'll probably post a shot of the Selket class cruiser soon.

All my immagear are composites.
I'll grab ship pics from FS2 and the online ship viewer (I don't use FS2View because it doesn't show anything in perspective.), and stick them on a backgound of my choosing. PSP handels all the effects.
