Thank you, Icefire.

I had a related font problem, and your suggestions about FSAA made everything groovy.

Awesome...some of the FSAA types I know screw up the text. Its happened to me. I'm hoping that the anti-aliasing technology on the R9700 that I want will let me run FSAA without the text going blurry

Every type of Multisampling Anti-Aliasing will cause blurry text, unless it's controlled from within the application (which is possible since DirectX 8), and in FS2, as you guessed, it isn't. The only card which gives the possibility of anti-aliasing, without blurriness, is currently the Matrox Parhelia, which has an advanced for of Edge anti-aliasing, which (as implied by the name) anti-aliases only the edges of polygons, by rendering only them in a higher resolution than the screen. The problem with this method, though, is that places where polygons intersect are not anti-aliased.

Edit: The other problem with it (Of course), is that it's only on the Matrox Parhelia, which is bad for gaming anyway, and not on any decent gaming card.

Ah ha! -GF4FIX did it. Thank's Fry Day.

I already had the AA off, since it had messed with some of my other games.

Time to get reacquainted with lieutenant Cordova!
