heres an interview with someone from THQ

http://www.gamespydaily.com/news/fullstory.asp?id=4623

man they're bastards since they can influence V's decisions. V should have the control and they should give interviews, make decisions etc

BTW from the way he dodged the question about mods it doesnt sound like it will have much mod support

ah well, i'de rather have a good game with no mod support than a crappy one with it

Ive emailed outrage the guys doing the PC conversion

info@outrage.com

Expressing my thoughts about RF2 being without Online Multiplayer. I cant express how much i want this game but now without Online Multiplayer i dont see the point in purchasing. Like me many other people only bought RF for the multiplayer purpose. Anyway i hope all of you email outrage and express the same anger im experiencing.

Well I agree with you :P I dont think many people got RF for its compelling single player storyline that took most people all of 2 hours? i believe I dunno it bored me after 5 minutes.

Maybe Outrage just doesnt have the time to clean up the code that RF is notorious for.

RF2 is announced for the PC... nobody cares...

My friend had it on the PS2 and finished it in 2 days on and off play... considering the PC version is gonna be infinitly easier due to M&K, thats £30 saved on my part...

I hope it's a ZICK joke

I'm trully addicted to RF Multi but , be playing with BOTS OMG....
I'm a serious RF player...and have never had so much fun even with any other game tough RF1 had many problems with cheaters, making own skins and so on.........
...Ofcourse it was the ONLINE part that kept RF alive.....
If i'll buy RF2 it won't last more then 2 months but if they put the ONLINE part in to it it will atleast last 2 years!!!

This makes my sad and yea...sick!

Im with you completely. Thats all they can think about is just getting project done, getting it out on the time they announced before they had anything done, and moving on to the next project. Its not about making a great game anymore, its about money and production statistics. If they would learn to push back the release so they could add features or make features better in the game, they would see that it helps. And this is a perfect case. Not taking time to add and perfect online play because they dont want to take the chance they will be haunted with the bugs RF I had, is just rediculous. They wont have my support on it from what I saw on the PS 2 demo, and they deffinately wont have my support on it if it dosen't include online play.

I am a single player.

I have done Red Faction 1 more than once. I like the immersive adventure of it.

The single player version will come out first. Then have a patch or two. Then out comes the multiplayer patch. That's the way I've seen the evolution of a lot of games.

I'm ready to buy it, the PC version.

K this is THQ we are talking about. You know the people who pulled the plug on support for the original RF 1 after 2 ****e patches that resolved nothing.

theres to much work involved in the multi section to bring it out in a patch.... cause theres no netcode written at all, they wont do it...

only chance of multi is 1) they release an Add-on pack (might do it would make money) 2) community does it, now this is poss but a mamouth task without the source.... anyone wanna ask outrage if they will give it us

harmLE$$, if RF and RF2 are built on the same engine, could all the work you and Subz have done on RF be of help with RF2?

Also, I have no idea how code is arranged or setup, but if RF and RF2 are built on the same engine, could someone hack RF's code and find the multi section of it, copy that and then tweak it?

heh, don't you love my n00b questions?

add-on pack.. i have a very strong feeling thats not gonna happen.. if they wanted to make money they would have included multiplayer in the first place. you see thq dont want any money, their main motivation is to piss people off

the community is never gonna make a multiplayer patch. it is possible of course, but if someone has the skill to do it they most likely dont have the time. and if someone actually did it there would probably be like 13 people playing it, so it wouldnt be worth it anyway.

Todd i bet you can get into their office building. steal the source for us. you know it would be the right thing to do

an entire multiplayer add-on pack is just not gonna happen, cos just quantifying the add-ons creations depends on the sales results of RF2...
if everyone doesn't buy it cos theres no multiplayer, theres no chance of multiplayer ever happening... either that or the add-on is made and just flops...
An example = Civ 3 and this ****ty £25 Play the World add-on that doesn't actually work!

Multiplayer is either gonna be patched in (god help them if they do... that mentality never works - see Deus Ex or NOLF2) or just dumped...

I really can't see Red Faction 2 having a future on the PC, especially since Unreal 2 and shedloads of other good SP games are coming out and UT2003, BF1942 and CS are still cornering the MP market...
